Jack Lew, the White House Chief of Staff, was nominated by President Obama to be the new Treasury secretary on Thursday. Lew, who once said that the "time for austerity is not now," has been recognized by Obama for his expertise in "spending cuts and deficit reduction."
On Austerity
President Obama "praised" Lew as an "expert on the pressing national issues of spending cuts and deficit reduction," as reported by Reuters. People must have a short memory about Lew, who supported the reckless budget proposed by Obama in February, that sought billions of dollars for "infrastructure projects." At the time Lew said, "I think there is pretty broad agreement that the time for austerity is not today." Since the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, it would not take a genius to speculate that cuts in spending are not at the top of Lew's list.
Luckily, the reckless budget proposed by Obama was rejected by a vote of 414 to 0.
On the ObamaCare "Tax"
Another story that may have been forgotten about Jack Lew was his response to the Supreme Court decision upholding ObamaCare. "It's time now to get over the debate and implement that law," he told CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley. Lew stated that one of the "great things" about America is that when the Supreme Court rules, the ruling is final.
Lew's enthusiasm was somewhat cherry-picked, as he also stated that the mandate penalty is not a tax and the Supreme Court ruling didn't make it so. The reason for his defiance most likely was due to the fact that all along, critics of ObamaCare have called the ObamaCare Mandate a "tax on the middle class," and so if Lew acknowledged that it was a tax, that may have put Obama in a sticky situation.
The same silly game was played by Lew during an interview with George Stephanopoulos.

I keep hearing it's only on the rich. They lied. My husband got less... in his first paycheck of the year.

I am not sure how many people realize this. They are raising the taxes on the "Little People" and many are strapped as it is.
I'm shocked that they lied, AGAIN. (NOT)...
That's all the administration can do well other than spend taxpayer money, is lie.

Democrats don't care about Wall Street corruption, Republicans profit from it. The unemployed need to worry about President Obama's efforts to add 15 million more revolving door Mexicans to the cheap labor force. With high unemployment and China moving into Cancun and more jobs going south it doesn't seem like work prospects the next four years are good.
On Feb. 13, 2011, Jack Lew, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with Candy Crowley and said, "Our budget will get us, over the next several years, to the point where we can look the American people in the eye and say we're not adding to the debt anymore; we're spending money that we have each year, and then we can work on bringing down our national debt."
Oops... What budgets? Wonder if he is going to "look us in the eye" and say the same this year?
“The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion dollars for the first 42 presidents — number 43 added $4 trillion dollars by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion dollars of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic.”

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
From Sen. Obama’s Floor Speech, March 20, 2006
“If my Republican friends believe that increasing our debt by almost $800 billion today and more than $3 trillion over the last five years is the right thing to do, they should be upfront about it. They should explain why they think more debt is good for the economy.
How can the Republican majority in this Congress explain to their constituents that trillions of dollars in new debt is good for our economy? How can they explain that they think it’s fair to force our children, our grandchildren, our great grandchildren to finance this debt through higher taxes. That’s what it will have to be. Why is it right to increase our nation’s dependence on foreign creditors?
They should explain this. Maybe they can convince the public they’re right. I doubt it. Because most Americans know that increasing debt is the last thing we should be doing. After all, I repeat, the Baby Boomers are about to retire. Under the circumstances, any credible economist would tell you we should be reducing debt, not increasing it.Democrats won’t be making argument to supper this legalization, which will weaken our country. Weaken our county.”

And by God, this is all that any "informed" American should need to know about this charlatan liar, in order that they find their common-sense bearings and turn on him.
He is a liar and a fool and a blatant opportunist, and there is not one...NOT A ONE, who should be confused by or misled by him.
