This proves the......geesh.....the stupidity of some people.....Bill Clinton as father of the year?

I just could not believe that I was reading that Bill Clinton has been chosen as Father of the year.  Unbelievable.

I guess it's easy to be father of the year when his only daughter is now a married, self-sufficient adult. Would they have named him father of the year the year he did up Monica?What a statement. "I didn't have sex with that woman [and if any man had taken advantage of my daughter the same way I did Monica, I say that's part of a good, liberal learning experience]." Yeah, maybe they would have awarded him father of the year then too.

Perhaps even worse, getting his wife to go on TV defending him as a victim of a smear campaign... until she found out it was true. Not to mention all the other indiscretions/harassment with other women before Monica. Oh, then there is that pesky matter of the crime of perjury...
Yeah, a national embarrassment, and fine example to pick... ha!
I just don't understand how she could have stayed with him after she went on national TV and was so vehement in her conviction that he was telling the truth. She even said something like she wasn't one of those "stand by your man" kind of women to make some kind of sorry point that she was believing his story on a very unemotional and factual basis. How embarrassing could it have been when she found out? That had to be worse than what he actually did.

I don't get it either, and felt sorry for her at the time. Political power and what goes with it is a dangerous, addictive drug... sought more than money or love they say.
I can't see why so many still look up to the guy as a person, or even want to be associated so closely with him, even politically in the open like they do; I couldn't do it. He should be quietly retired hiding in a hole someplace.

None that I know of Heather - Chelsea is the daughter of Web Hubbell which has been well known in their home state.

It's about the same as Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize - no longer a distinguished award, in my opinion!

Or blackmailed them, lol! When I think of "Father of the Year," I think of a guy who has younger children who is raising his children, providing for their needs & financially supporting them, not to mention, to have done something significant in the spirit of "fatherhood." This "award" seems totally off base!

Yeah. Father of the year should be someone like.....hmmmm....can't think of any "famous" folks who qualify. When I think of a good father, I think of the examples we used to see on TV - on Leave it to Beaver and later on the Cosby Show.

My pastor would be a great candidate. Or the guy across the street from us. But Bill Clinton? Gosh golly no.

On the topic of great fathers, the truly great ones grow into awesome Grandfathers. Yesterday was the first anniversary of my paternal grandfather's death, a man worthy of MANY MANY AWARDS, and probably got some medals in WWII. I stumbled upon a picture and a nice CD of fiddle music that inspired me to post something, over on my page. :) Next to my grandfather, and my father, Bill Clinton isn't worth a pinch of @#$#% in the snow. LOL

I have never seen where the award of Father of the year given by other then the family has anything to do with how a man fathers his family.

In fact the ones that I have read about have always had the reason for the award to be all the things a man does away from his family.

It suggest to me that those giving the awards for Father of the year are more interested in what the father can do for them and others then what the father can do for their own family.

I could think of a lot more deserving people to chose as father of the year, and the top of my list would be George Strait.
Bill Clinton is as deserving of father of the year as many other presidents are (NOT).......

I guess that tells how far down the toilet we have gone, as a society. A President of the United States cares so little for his vows of marriage that he cheats on his wife, then lies under oath to hide that infidelity, which results in being impeached for that deception and obstruction of justice while under oath. What a role model.
