Typical Quote (and tactic) All Too Common in Today's Culture...

Oh dear... what idiot would say something like this?

And who in their right mind would laugh at the thought of it?

Is it someone from 'my side' ... someone from the right, being moronic?

 

From the context, it sure does sound like someone from the Right...

'I don’t care what the justification is that semi-automatic weapons ought to be confiscated in this country– much less handguns. What do you need to confiscate any legally bought item at all for? The only reason I think you'd need to do it is, someone like Alex Jones ought to challenge Piers Anthony or Harry Reid to a duel in which they bring their telephone primed for 911 while Jones shows up with a legal semi-automatic and pops em.'

After reviewing the article ... looks like I made another boo boo...

Similar to the ones I made in some previous articles of mine:

Oh Those Slogan-slinging Racists! ... Those TEA people are out of control!

TEA party violence! We knew it would happen!

 

Further, I even misquoted, er ... incorrectly paraphrased the actual quote, while also misattributing it.

 

Let me correct myself ...

 

The person who said it was not someone from the Right being moronic.

And the actual topic of the original quote (on which I based my parody) was not in opposition to weapons being confiscated.

It was in fact a quote in favor of more intrusive gun control. (yeah... go figure that one)

The person who said it, and those who supported it are ...

Who -- Buzz Bissinger (a sports columnist for the Daily Beast)

Among those offering supportive laughter and/or supportive comments was Abby Huntsman of the Huffington Post, and of course, Piers himself and others.

 

Aaron Dykes, the author, says, "This call to violence from those demanding gun control is nothing new."

And he is correct.

This latest example is not the first...

Not the only...

And won't be the last.

When the left goes on the move against violence ... they generally seem to think using violence to protest violence is the way to go.

Threatening or (as is shown in some other twitter posts captured and pasted at the article, as well as Piers Morgan quotes) wishing for gun violence in protest of responsible gun ownership falls right in line with their usual m.o. (their m.o. of threatening and using violence in protest of possible, maybe, perhaps future violence by someone else, as also exampled in my two other articles listed above).
