The hectic schedule around here has resumed. I didn't take a position on the ROTC board, as Angela might not be in ROTC next year if the school eliminates a class. That's the only class that could go, as she needs to keep the core classes and German. It's just wait and see....
So...what are we celebrating today....
1). Play God Day: Hmmm....this one has such potential. I didn't find out exactly what this one means though....maybe do something special for someone. It's NOT to be nasty or mean....I guess take this one as you will....
2). National Static Electricity Day: Oh, I do have a lot of that...my hair proves it. Many people don't understand what static electricity is and how it works....and probably don't want a science lesson from me. So simply put: when you are walking across a rug, there are electrons that pass on from the rug on to you. You now have a negative static charge and a few extra electrons on your body. When you touch metal, the metal which is a conductor makes the electrons leap from you to the metal, causing a static shock. Or when you touch another person, the electons leap to them causing a shock. Why not take a balloon and rub it on your head to cause some static electricity today....
3). National Apricot Day: We have to have a daily food....and I do like apricots. Apricot kernels -- the inner portion of the seeds -- are believed by many to be a healthy alternative to chemotherapy cancer treatments. However, research has shown that the natural chemical called "amygdalin" that is found in the apricot kernel turns into cyanide while still in the stomach. This can lead to serious poisoning and even death, so DON'T eat the seeds!!!!
4). Balloon Ascension Day: A large crowd gathered outside the walls of the Walnut Street Prison that fronted on what is now Independence Square in Philadelphia at dawn on January 9, 1793. The occasion was not a hanging but a balloon launching by Jean Pierre Blanchard, and would be the first aerial voyage in the history of the new United States of America and the New World. He couldn't make a career out of it, but Blanchard was the first....and we celebrate that today.
I think I'll just rub my feet all over the carpet and touch a sleeping Christopher.....that should give him a good charge. LOL
List anything else you find below and Happy Hump Day.
