We got Iphones!!

As part of my fiance's Christmas gift, I wrote him a little card with an IOU for an Iphone 5. We had already talked about getting them and he knew that he was getting one as part of his Christmas present, but it was still just as fun going to get them over the weekend.

As a cost cutting measure, I've been on my Dad's cell phone plan since I first got my cell phone when I was 16. Once I moved out of the house, I just stayed on his plan and I've been paying him a part of the bill monthly for the past 14 or so years. That was significantly cheaper to have us on one plan than it was for us both to have phones with phone and data plans to pay for. I realize that's not always possible for everyone, and I know I'm lucky to share the cost of the plan in that regard. I basically moved from being on my dad's plan to being on my fiance's plan and we ended up saving about $40 by both being on the same account. Since both of our jobs pay part of our cell phone bill, we will actually have a very minimal cell phone bill each month after the company reimbursements. I'm might be more thrilled about the $20 bill each month than I am about the actual phones! (Maybe not, they're admittedly pretty awesome!)

We got the Iphone 5 and they're awesome!! I got the white one and my fiance got the black one. This might be the best life decision we've made in a while. Since we both travel for work, I wanted to make sure that there was no possible way he could take my phone (or I could take his) when we drive off to other states for work.

There is still a pretty big learning curve with the phone as it's the first Apple product I've had in a long time. I had an early model Nano(Mp3 player), but the Iphone is a whole different ballgame. I've got so much to learn!

Cell phones are pretty much a necessity for our jobs and for our personal life as well (we don't have a home phone). It's nice to get a new phone and enjoy the rewards of all my hard work over the Christmas season.
