'Castle' Season 5 Recap: Significant Others

Castle is back with all-new epsiodes in which the coupling of Caskett will be tested. The first test is when the mystery writer's ex-wife, who was supposed to go to Paris with Alexis, shows up. Alexis is home with mono. This brings Meredith to talk her ex into letting her stay with her sick daughter. Unfortunately, Beckett had dibs on the place first as her apartment is being fumigated. Beckett is not happy with Richard for not saying no to her. She is especially upset when the ex makes her way downstairs with no pants on and makes her man some special nutmeg laced coffee that she always made during their all-night sessions. Beckett seems to be the outsider all of a sudden.

There is a murder case to solve. Michelle Twohey was killed by an ice pick to the neck. The team finds out that she is a divorce lawyer for some rich couples and they also find out that she was to set up a meeting with a guy named Ron Garrison. A call from Lanie prompted Beckett to head down to see her. First, her BFF had to give her a scolding after she finds out about Richard's ex staying with the couple. She told her friend that she needs to start making the decisions and not letting the situation get out of hand. Good advice! She also told her that some blood was found on Michelle's jacket that belonged to a client.

Richard was excited to book a hotel room for a couple's night away from chaos at home for him and Beckett. She was not impressed. Beckett told her man that she should not be the one to relocate, it should be Meredith and that they are going home.

General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn played the role of Samantha Voss who was furious with her ex enough to slash an expensive painting and smashed up everything else she could get her hands on. Her ex came in and a war ensued. They both got arrested but they were not the killers. Next up was a visit to Billy Piper, played by another GH vet Jack Wagner. They learn that his ex-wife had disappeared during a boat trip while trying to work on their marriage. Michelle was also involved in their divorce.

When Ryan and Esposito learn about the ex, they tell Richard that his two worlds have collided and they will end up going boom! Richard doesn't seem too worried. That is until Meredith calls Beckett to invite her to dinner, just the two of them. Richard now hears that boom in his head exploding.

Richard is making Martha crazy as he paces the floor wondering what the girls are talking about. It turns out that they got along famously and Beckett tells him that there is nothing to worry about. A call comes in about the case. Billy Piper's boat was just one of two that was there the night his wife disappeared. It turns out that Rob Garrison's wife looks just like Mrs. Piper and that's because they are the same person. She confesses that being married to Billy was horrible and she wanted to get away from him. Michelle was about to find out about it so she killed her. Case closed.

Alexis convinces her mom to go to Paris to have a good time without her. Before she leaves, Beckett asks Meredith why things didn't work out with Richard. That was the wrong questions to ask. Meredith told her that he is like a sweet soufflé. She said, "Souffle's are wonderful, but they always fall." She explained that Rick was just too much of a mystery, meaning that he never revealed anything about himself, including his dad. This got Beckett worried about the future of their relationship.

Will Beckett be able to handle this revelation about Castle?
