Mrs. Wentzky has taught honors English at Dreher High School for seven years, but now she's known for teaching a little something on the side to at least one of her underage male students. The South Carolina teacher was arrested on Friday, and is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student in her home. The statistics for teacher sex scandals aren't easily found, but it's no secret that there are very, very many. And the far-right wants to give these people guns?!

Kinsley Wentzky, 34, is accused of bringing the underage male to her home on several occasions for sex (presumably while her husband was away since she is married). There aren't many details being released about this case, but the student has been cooperative with the investigation and even gave police a sworn statement detailing his affair with his teacher.
Shame on Mrs. Wentzky if these allegations are true. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior, and it only makes it harder on the honest teachers who work in public schools for meager salaries because they love to teach -- not because they like screwing around with teenagers. Something needs to be done. While it's already hard enough to find quality teachers who are well educated and accepting of the pay, there needs to be regulations and psychological testing done before hiring them. Perhaps that would avoid some of these very frequent occurrences of teachers having sex with students.

Odd how this seems different for female/male and male/female. As for female/male, there were a couple female teachers in my high school who probably would have enabled a zenith moment of bliss in my young life with this sort of behavior. On the other hand a male teacher and young female student - no.
Aside from whatever humor we attach to this, I think the negative psychological residue on a young male is probably non-existent. On a young female, could be substantial.
