Since last month’s horrifying and heartbreaking school massacre in Newtown, Conn., politicians and the press have, as everyone knows, been totally obsessed with firearms.
Indeed, President Obama has vowed to impose strong new gun-control measures on the nation – very soon, with or without Congress.
Other possible factors – from violent video games to the “failure of our mental-health system†to the unintended consequences of making schools “gun-free zones†– have taken a back seat to guns. Within hours of the gruesome mega-crime, the media had provided extensive, round-the-clock coverage of precisely which firearms, manufacturers and calibers the perpetrator had used, how he had obtained them from his mother, where they were originally purchased, and so on.
But where, I’d like to ask my colleagues in the media, is the reporting about the psychiatric medications the perpetrator – who had been under treatment for mental-health problems – may have been taking? After all, Mark and Louise Tambascio, family friends of the shooter and his mother, were interviewed on CBS’ “60 Minutes,†during which Louise Tambascio told correspondent Scott Pelley: “I know he was on medication and everything, but she homeschooled him at home cause he couldn’t deal with the school classes sometimes, so she just homeschooled Adam at home. And that was her life.†And here, Tambascio tells ABC News, “I knew he was on medication, but that’s all I know.â€
It has been more than three weeks since the shooting. We know all about the guns he used, but what “medication†may he have used? (One brief mini-hoax emerged when the New York Daily News published a story claiming the shooter, according to his uncle, had been on the controversial antipsychotic drug Fanapt. That story was quickly withdrawn after the “uncle†turned out to be a fraudster with no relation to the murderer.)
So, what is the truth? Where is the journalistic curiosity? Where is the follow-up? Where is the police report, the medical examiner’s report, the interviews with his doctor and others?

2 - where are the pics of the 'hundreds' of rounds supposedly used - surely a FEW missed
3 - where are the two or three men 'captured' noted by witnesses, overhead police helicopter, and radio communications between police officers
4 - what about the 'shotgun' found in the trunk of a car supposedly driven there - it was NOT an assault rifle and was never in the building
5 - where are the pics of the 'guns' used in the 'shooting' - two handguns or four handguns or an assault rifle or two?
6 - where is a pic of ALL the empty cartridges
7 - where is the pic of ALL the used magazines
8 - what about the young girl supposedly 'murdered' and yet there is a published pic of her with Obama when he was there for his 'propaganda speech', aka memorial speech
9 - what about the father of same girl mentioned above, who was caught laughing JUST before he was interviewed and THEN turned on his 'acting' mode
10 - what about the facebook page opened the SAME day as the shooting asking for donations to help the family
11 - what about the pic of the supposedly 'grieving' couple who work for the govt
12 - why did Eric Holder , aka criminal and facilitator of the Fast and Furious, visit the site and meet PRIVATELY with the first responders?
13 - there were supposedly over 1200 police/responders yet no one is talking
14 - the children were told to 'close their eyes' as they were led out of the school building - do you really think NONE of them peaked out of curiosity?
15 - the principle, who supposedly ran towards the gunman and was killed was INTERVIEWED right after the shooting stating she 'there was a man with a long rifle'
16 - the 'nurse' (I think that is what they said she was) and some one else, hid for four hours before coming out - surely they must have known the 'shooting' had stopped and looked out the window to see if cops were there
17 - SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS!!!!
At this point I'm doubting anyone was killed at that school that day, besides maybe one patsy, whose name might be Adam Lanza . . I strongly suspect it was just for show.
It's a sucker's play, to my mind. which the powers that be are pulling with the help of people that keep thinking they are going to "wake up" the powers that be . . They blame the guns, and when other things are cited as causes, they will say "Yep, now you're starting to get the picture, common folk ought not have guns, thanks concerned citizen ; )
His father also had some connection /testifying to the Trillion Dollar Lawsuit against all our Federal Officials? Same as newspaper/editor who printed the entire story and named names of those involved in the suit - his nanny who stabbed children in her care and then committed suicide by silting her own throat???? She MAY have lived but the story and facts are hidden...
And, wasn't the shooter in the movie theater's father involved in testifying in the same case?
They lie and lie and stupid, dumbed down people, brain off people, believe every word out of this administration's moth. It makes me want to heave!
I think the pic of Obama with that little girl that was supposedly murdered, was for a 'in your face' laugh at everyone.
