I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me (Psalm 13:5-6).
I would like to lift up a prayer of thanksgiving for getting me and Callisto home last night. For my b-i-l who is loaning me a car for work today and fixing my car. While a car dieing is a scary thing I know it was You that helped us make it home (even if it wasn't all the way to the drive way) and You will help us as we look for another vehicle.
I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:38-39)
Lord, I would like to lift up Betty's Daughter. Please guide the doctors. It is difficult Lord, but let Your will be done.
God of mercy, give Your strength to Linda's son, one of Your children, enfold him in Your love and restore him to the freedom of God's children.
Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy, strengthen them in the work of recovery, and help them to resist all temptation.
I lift up my husband, Sean, as he goes back to seminary and continues to fit in his doctor appointments and other needs around his schedule.
I also lift up Christopher and Angela who are each facing medical issues of their own. (Janet "Jax" B. Dec 31, 2012, 1:56am EST Well, we're waiting to hear about Christopher's surgery and I think I'll have to call the ortho to see about Angela's hand.)
To those who care for them, grant patience and understanding and a love that perseveres. Caregivers need strength as well Lord. Like my father helping my mother and Debbie who is helping her father. It is difficult taking care of someone you love when they are struggling to overcome an illness or other medical issue. Lord, please help the caregivers also find time for themselves so that they can be renewed and refreshed as they care for their loved one. Help them not feel guilty if/when they cannot do it all. Send them the help they need especially at times they do not notice the need.
The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters (Psalm 24:1-2).
