WWE Rumors: New Royal Rumble 2013 Participants Revealed on Smackdown

In the latest WWE rumors, several new Royal Rumble 2013 participants made themselves known on Friday's Smackdown episode. Among them are at least two former World Heavyweight Champions, who seem to be heading on a path towards a feud with one another.

The latest WWE Smackdown results featured the show starting with Sheamus hitting the ring to talk about his vow to win the Royal Rumble. However, he was soon joined by Randy Orton, who argued with "The Celtic Warrior" over who would be last one standing in the ring later this month. If it's either of them, they get their choice of which title they want to fight for at the upcoming WrestleMania.

Orton and Sheamus soon had company, as current World Champion Big Show and current US Champion Antonio Cesaro both decided to join the conversation. Big Show doesn't have a reason to be in the Rumble, unless he somehow loses his title before the match takes place. Cesaro, on the other hand, may very well be a participant, and seems to be on the rise lately. He could be among the final competitors in the ring, although he's not quite ready for a major title match at Mania.

The three confirmed superstars for the Rumble so far appear to be John Cena, Randy Orton and Sheamus, making for 1/10th of the participants, and a great selection at that. These guys have had numerous title reigns among them, as well as numerous feuds. It could very well come down to these as the final 3 men in the ring, although Ryback wouldn't be surprising to see there. To add to the magnitude of the three known Rumble entrants, they've won three out of the last five Royal Rumble matches. Edge and Alberto Del Rio won the other two.

So who are some other possible entrants for the 2013 edition of the match? Expect the usual entries of guys like Kane, Santino Marella, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, Damien Sandow, and Zack Ryder. WWE also likes to toss in some surprises here or there, such as longtime legends or even celebs (please WWE, no Drew Carey this year). Don't be surprised by guys like Sgt. Slaughter or Ron Simmons entering the mix, just for nostalgia's sake. However, when it comes down to it, they rarely win the big match. It's going to be someone capable of headlining WrestleMania, so early predictions would have to favor Cena, Sheamus and Orton, ahead of the pack.
