TGIF. I just got our new mortgage book/statement in the mail. Yikes! Our payments are going up by quite a bit next year....more than I plannned. That, along with the less take home, means the belt is going to be tightened even more. I wonder how tight you can make the belt before it just ruptures....
So...what are we celebrating today.....
1). Trivia Day: This is my kind of holiday, as I have a vast amount of unimportant knowledge stored up in my brain....This holiday is an opportunity for us to share those many little trinkets of knowledge. It doesn't matter how big or how trivial. Dazzle your friends and family with generous portions of trivia today!
2). World Braille Day: We celebrate World Braille Day in honour to give tribute to the genius Louis Braille. This holiday gives an opportunity to all the organizations which are working for the blind so that they can display their work and promote the Braille language and also educate the others on the issue that is affecting the blind. It's the birth date of Louis Braille the one who invented the system so that blind people could read and write. Louis Braille was a Frenchman and he became blind when he was 3 yrs old.
3). Tom Thumb Day: Tom Thumb is a character of English folklore. The History of Tom Thumb was published in 1621, and has the distinction of being the first fairy tale printed in English. Tom is no bigger than his father's thumb, and his adventures include being swallowed by a cow, tangling with giants, and becoming a favourite of King Arthur. (Wikipedia)
4). Dimpled Chad Day: If your name is Chad and you have dimples… or you couldn’t get punched by a Florida elder… or if you were elected by the Supreme Court… this is your day. This is a day to commemorate all the dimpled chads of the world, left over from various and sundry contested elections.
5). World Hypnotism Day: The goal of this day is to eliminate the myths and misconceptions about hypnosis and to teach people the truth about hypnotism. Hypnosis is shrouded in mystery. The word hypnosis conjures up images of men with hard, unyielding, wide-eyed gazes and spirals of mysticism....but the truth is not nearly as exciting.
6). Pop Music Chart Day: I guess this deals with the most popular music that has made it on to the chards. There've been some pretty interesting songs that have made it....and a handful of songs that I never want to hear again.
I hope all of you are having a great Friday.....I'm exhausted but do't have time for a nap, as I have to take Pher in to the doctor.
