Brad Pitt's career is losing momentum fast. His last movie flopped. And now, rumor has it that Angelina Jolie's baby daddy just doesn't have it anymore. In other words, he's getting old, and he's started to look it. Even worse, the Moneyball man seems unconcerned about his deteriorating masculine beauty. Worse still, he's unwilling to try to do anything to reverse the deterioration or even slow it down. Worst of all is the fact that his "aging face" is starting to upset his fans. They're starting to abandon him.
According to sources, the father of six has been warned by his handlers that his fans are turned off by the so-called "sudden loss of his boyish good looks," and their inevitable abandonment will destroy his career. But he doesn't seem to care. In fact, he flatly refused to allow any retouching on his "controversial Chanel No. 5 ad campaign...posters showing him looking weathered and aged." Ouch. He also forbade use of a soft focus lens to smooth out his wrinkles in close ups on his new movie, Killing Them Softly. He insisted he wanted to "keep it real."
"I've accepted the way I look," declared Pitt, "and both you and my fans better accept it as well. I'm getting older—and the lines on my face aren't going anywhere."
Right. Unfortunately, his fans didn't agree with his keeping it "real" philosophy. Killing Them Softly didn't kill at the box office. It was a "real" flop.
So, there you have it. Fortunately, Brad Pitt has been a big star for a long time. He's made his money, and if his career ends tomorrow, he won't have to apply for welfare. However, maybe he should get a better grip on reality. He's a good actor, but he's not exactly Lawrence Olivier. The majority of his fan base obviously want him to at least try to resemble the young stud muffin Brad of the '80s and '90s. Poor Brad. Looks like he's has a major decision to make.
On the other hand, it's refreshing to know that Hollywood holds men to the same standards of body maintenance and physical beauty that have constrained women since the beginning of time. Welcome to the club, Brad.
Wonder what Angelina Jolie—and, better yet, Jennifer Aniston—think about Brad's dilemma?
