A New Year Recap of my Gather Groups...
What they are about and where you can find them
My Gather groups have a specific purpose and are not "anything you want to post" groups.
I would love to have you join any or all of them, but please do pay attention and read the descriptions of each before you post. I do hate to not be able to approve a post!
I have had to go into some of the earlier files in a couple of groups and delete, delete, delete both posts and photos from the albums that had nothing to do with the theme or topic of the groups.
Whether you write about food or whether you enjoy just reading about food or looking at the pictures of food other members post, this group welcomes everyone...foodies or non-foodies alike!
***To post to this group, you HAVE to post a photo with the recipe or article you're sharing IN the article posted itself and not just as a link or attachment. Food photos, recipes and posts - ONLY food, please! This is NOT just a recipe group. Submissions without photos of the food itself will be regretfully denied.
Anything and everything as it relates to the State of Hawai'i. Post about Hawai'i, your trip to Hawai'i, living in Hawai'i, stories about Hawai'i. Let others know what is so special about the Aloha State. Please content about Hawai'i only!
Everything having to do with farmers markets. Your visit to a farmers market, photos of food products, fruit & produce you bought or found at a farmers market. This is ONLY about farmers markets and not necessarily about the individual farmers themselves UNLESS it is a part of the overall post ABOUT a farmers market.
Of course, farmers markets ARE colorful, so please share photos taken at the market with your post.

Our small farmers are our unsung heroes. They face Mother Nature (and disaster) every day of their lives...yet they persevere. A small farmer can be anyone who plants half an acre or a thousand...who plants a mono-crop or a hundred different vegetables, and lives of his farm....he/she can be a dairy farmer or a bee keeper.....but is one that shoulders the burden on his/her own and is not a farmer owned by big agribusiness. Tell us about your local farmers!
This group is where you can share posts, information and photos of tropical gardens - either your own or some you have visited. Our icon graphic of the boy and anthuriums is from an 18 x 24 colored pencil drawing made by our group member Moggy K, who lives somewhere in the middle of NC
Only simple ideas, tricks, hints and tips that can help cut down on long preparations, add to your enjoyment of cooking and still come up with spectacular results. Please, this is NOT the place for posting only a recipe, UNLESS the recipe is directly related to a hint or tip being given.....
****(see below)A place where we can share information and discuss authors and books where food is an important topic...novels, mysteries, biographies...any books where food is one of the main characters! NOTICE: This group is NOT about cookbooks or a cookbook review site. This is for fiction that includes food and foodies or books by food writers where food is an important topic....except for cookbooks ;-)
****This last group has no personalized icon...I was looking for a book cover that would represent it, but do not want to use a book to which I don't have the copyrights...so... I am opening it to the group members to design one that would represent what its meant as "Culinary Literary"...A fictitious novel about a chef or a food critic....or one about a murder mystery that revolves about a foodie...or....

Your groups are awesome.
I know what you mean about people taking time to read the rules or group descriptions...I spent over an hour deleting content and photos from the Tropical Gardens group...and I'm not finished checking the posts there!
Someone took a trip to 'tropical places' and had all sorts of non-related travel and personal photos in the photos sections!
Not looking forward to checking the rest of the groups!

All my groups used to be open at one time, but no one would pay attention to the guidelines of each group and I had to put them under "moderation" after spending hours deleting stuff that did not fit - children and pet photos ...poems and some of those "Hi, what are you doing today?" posts in the Food...Glorious Food group, for one...I spent an hour deleting photos from the Tropical Gardens group...photos of boats, ships, trips and personal photos that did not fit the guidelines of the group..
That has happened so much in Gather lately!
