Through Freedom of Information Acts, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) has revealed files to CNET regarding the National Security Agency’s new “Perfect Citizen†program, which is said to uncover security susceptibilities by aiming for computer systems which control utilities.
“Perfect Citizen†will be using this maneuver to “protect†United States cyber ways or attack foreign broadcasting by using ““vulnerability exploration and research†against the computerized controllers that control “large-scale†utilities including power grids and natural gas pipelinesâ€. According to documents, the NSA program is due to play out until at least the end of September.
Many, especially lawmakers, have been harping on the chance of cyber attacks for years now, including an entire takeover of electrical grids. Ironically, the NSA is proving that inevitably, none other than the government itself is the actual culprit that has been frightening citizens for quite some time, a perfect example of a wolf wearing sheepskin.
Almost a year ago, in February, General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff spoke to a congressional committee, “I know what we [the U.S.] can do and therefore I am extraordinarily concerned about the cyber capabilities of other nations.†Dempsey went on to explain that if another country were to give such software to an outlying party, “the next thing you know could be our electrical grid.â€
Interestingly though, the government’s electrical weapon capabilities have been brought to light recently. Earlier this month, NSA whistleblower William Binney told RussiaToday that his former agency spies on the entire country and has everyone under surveillance. He said that the FBI records emails of almost every single citizen in the U.S., even members of Congress. Binney even noted that the FBI could use the information against anyone as well, which is a shocking addition to the already corrupt breach of the Fourth Amendment.
Of course, regarding the new “Perfect Citizenâ€, an NSA spokeswoman told CNET that the program is “purely a vulnerabilities assessment and capabilities development contract†that “does not involve the monitoring of communications or the placement of sensors on utility company systems.†A strong statement that is hard to believe after hearing the words of Mr. Binney.
An NSA Control System Network Vulnerability Analyst discussed in a post that “Perfect Citizen†deals with “building proof-of concept exploits…Sabotage or disruption of these industries can have wide-ranging negative effects including loss of life, economic damage, property destruction, or environmental pollution.â€
For about a month stories kekeping showing Iran tinkering with their internet security, so might it be that the US is going to blame Iran for some cyber attack?
Earlier today it was mentioned that Obamanus want to have the internet control so he can take it down when ever he feels like it. It's already been said there is going to be an attack and it will be blamed on some other country. If it happens soon what perfect timing aye, the taking of of our 2nd amendment, then our internet so we won't know what is going on because you cant trust the paid media they listen to what the king says and tells them to put out to the public.
Cyber security is going to be a bs story so he can take it down, and or so we end up like revolution I think i've been saying that for months it seems to be rolling closer.
Nobody has the exact time or date, its just going to happen the military also has weapons they can use to single out certain areas causing the internet to go down, and whats worse the power grid.
