Nina Dobrev made a big announcement on Twitter—she said that she's getting married! So did she and Ian Somerhalder fly off to South East Asia for New Year's Eve because they planned to have a secret wedding ceremony there?
Here's what Nina tweeted this morning:
"I'm getting married!!!!!!!!"
Her tweet probably excited fans of The Vampire Diaries who think that Nina and Ian should be together forever on the show and in real life, but they probably wondered why the tweet was accompanied by a link to a photo that shows Nina bottle-feeding a baby tiger. However, she and Ian are big animal lovers, so it wouldn't be all that surprising if they had a bunch of cute critters at their wedding.
But unfortunately she later clarified that she wasn't referencing getting married to Ian by tweeting this:
"He's orange ... And soft... And we'll be together forever. Match made in heaven... IM IN HEAVEN."
Of course it's still possible that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder really are going to tie the knot while they're in Thailand—lots of celebs like to have weddings outside of the U.S. since they can get a little more privacy. However, Ian hasn't dropped any hints that he's going to get hitched in his tweets. Instead he tweeted a gloomy picture of Thailand looking gray and wet, following it with a sad message about how many homeless dogs there are in the country. So his tweets were definitely a dark contrast to Nina's sunny photos of her furry feline friend.
Ian seems to constantly worry about solving the world's problems, whether he's trying to save the environment or trying to find animals happy homes. It's great that he's such a do-gooder, but hopefully he can put his worries aside to enjoy celebrating the New Year with Nina.
