Why Is Obama Against Armed Security At Schools...

As the debate on The second amendment continues with Obama leading the charge against our right to own guns, in the wake of the Ct. school shooting, The question of having responsible adults with guns at our schools to protect our children has been suggested. Those on the left of the issue are completely against this proposal while those on the right think it is worth consideration. While the Obama administration is calling the idea of armed protection at our schools crazy, they are not mentioning the fact that Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC, has 11 security officers and is seeking to hire more. This of course is on top of the secret service officers that are at the school daily since Obama's daughter attend there. Joe Bidens grandchildren as well as Children and grandchildren of other high profile political figuresattend Sidwell Friends. One more note here. As Hillary and Bill Clinton were calling for gun control, Their daughter was attending Sidwell Friends for the superb protection afforded by the added by the schools armed security.

One of the features of Sidwell Friends is the armed protection for the children. All though these political figures want that protection for there own kid's, they say it is crazy for the rest of us to want it for our kids. These rat bast*rds believe their kids should be protected by people with guns but would deny our children the same protection. Shame on President Obama for seeking more gun control and for trying to prevent the parents of other school children from doing what he has clearly done for the protection of his own children. As we already know, he is just another liberal hypocrite.

Hi Big Mama, they are all paradoxical. Gimme your gun but don't touch mine! Can't have border control, of course they do not live close to one. I say put their little darlings on the pathway and Obama would have the entire Marine fleet up and down the fences.

Mama, I can't for the life of me understand the left on this abortion issue. They can kill a baby and a full term baby that was botched by abortion, but they are going out of their way to ban guns because school kids were shot. I am horrified also because of what happened, but why don't they call for the ban of abortion clinics? I am horrified of the number of babies being killed every second of the day. Can you imagine what God is thinking? More children are being murdered through abortion then are with guns. So lets shut down the abortion clinics. Lets take down the names of every Doctor who performs abortions, lets call them what they are. They are the killers .Lets put a stigma on their house, make them wear a scarlet letter. Lets call Obama what he is for supporting abortion. Leave the legal owners of guns alone they are not the killers.

I wish they all would have to change places with us normal folk for awhile... They would have no security, the same obamacare shoved at them, stand in the unemployment lines, etc... Maybe, they could even be homeless for awhile... But none of them are willing to change places with the people... Because they have always thought of how much better they are... When are people going to wise up? Those that put them into office, must agree with him and think that the value of their children are more important than their own too... Sad...

I have often thought about the value of life not being cherished in this country Big Mama.... If people dont , wont or cant breed, it makes less to deal with... So abortion or the killing of little children would make perfect sense... The less people to rebel against them..

I just don't believe armed security guards at schools will be effective in stopping future attacks similar to the one in Newtown. Sorry but in the urban areas this has already been implemented but not elementary schools, it's just sad that people have guns and are not being more responsible for who has access to them. Nice post though always good to know how people feel about weapons of mass destruction because it's not the guns that killed those kids it was a person who wasn't legally able to buy alcoholic beverages yet.

apparently Obama disagrees with you since he sends his kids to a school with armed security. He obviously believes that doing so provides more safety for his daughters. Joe Bidens grandchildren also attend the same school as Obama's kids. So he and his family believe that armed guards at school is good idea when their children are attending.

I sure didn't know this and suspect the good majority of Americans are as ill informed. O-M-G, this does make you SO angry. We pick up the tab for the elite childrens' gun protection while the eilte denies our children and wants to take our protections away. How whacked are Liberals to not get what's really going on here?

Fren and Big Mama did you hear what one newspaper is doing? They are listing the names of all gun owners in this particular town. How nice is this? So the criminals will know WHO has the guns and who does not! As we know what one starts there is always follow up, so the gun haters will start printing names? They claim it is legal. Of course very vindictive.

Well now the crooks will know who to rob, rape and otherwise victimize in that community, because they will know who is unarmed and an easy target. I guess that's a good way to punish them gun owners. This just proves how insane the so called progressives are. They are setting up those who have no protection up to be victimized.

Maybe because his administration let funding/programs for school security/officers end last year. There were several programs for it actually, and funded through different agencies. Lost to many and the media with short memories in their knee-jerk lust to demonize the NRA etc., is that President Clinton did exactly that with the COPS programs, and putting SROs (school resource officers)/police in schools among some aspects of it, spending nearly a billion dollars over the years. Actually, even the school/district of this last shooting in Newton received funding at one time for an extra school policeman back in 2000-2003(?) I think it was. I might mention the ACLU is not a big fan of SRO and the student civil rights concerns over them on campus; might play into the funding cancellations last year, no clue? I can think of many good reasons for SRO/officers and schools, though feel the primary driver and responsibility should be state/local and steps taken would probably vary as to location and school design.

They should all have term limits and when they are out on their butts so goes their perks. Like, protection, health insurance and any other benefit they get to keep. Perhaps if going into this from the beginning they will be more apt to focus on what they will have after they are out of office. They will have the same so called "PERKS" they have elected for us nobody s??? Because they will be the same "nobody" we are!
