Life has a way of making us take a step back and think about what is really important to us. If we don't do this on a regular basis, something will happen that forces us to do it. At least that is what I have found in my own life. The year 2012 was such a year for my family.Â
My computer crashed and I have been unable to get a new one until now. I know you understand that a computer is a major investment. One just can't rush out and buy a new one on the whim. I have tons of email in my gather account that I did not even open. I will get to that later today. Right now, I want to get this today post done up. If you have something that you would like to chat about or promote, just add the link and a bit about it in the comment area of this post. It will more than likely take me a few days to get things running smoothly.Â
I am committed to working harder to make the gather community a welcoming place once again. I know we have amazing folk here and I don't want to see the site taken away from us because we are not communicating well.

Christmas Hope - FWE - Disappointment by Jan S. On Christmas Day, the house was all abuzz with excitement and preparations for a family Christmas. By late afternoon, the aroma of roasting turkey battled with the scents of cinnamon, balsam and the burning wood in the big fireplace. The mantel was decked with..... | ||

Happy 2013! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2013. I didn't spend a lot of time on here last year but am going to try to change that this year. 2012 was pretty good for me. In May, I spent . . .  | ||

Where To Find Things On Gather
Do you often get confused when you are looking for something in particular? You are not alone, it seems that we all forget where things are when we don't access them on a daily basis. There is a wonderful post written by Gather support Chuck McGuire. It has just about everything you need to know in a simple to read | Need Help on Gather  In an attempt to get your questions and problems taken care of in a timely manner, Gather has a staff of customer support agents just for your problems. However, keep in mind that they cannot help you if you don't tell them what is going on. Please refer all your questions, concerns, and feedback to the official Gather HELP FORM. The Gather staff will respond (if necessary) by email. The Gather Help Desk will be used for important announcements so feel free to check it out from time to time. Keep In Mind that Gather will email you, at your regular email account NOT your Gather |

Since we do not have kids in school and we are living in a new area now, I don't know when school starts here. I am glad you are able to spend time with your family. Family is so very important and one can never spend too much time with them.
I really feel bad for your daughter. I am glad she has you to help her through her "down" time.
I don't even know what Minecraft is! LOL
I sure do to. I know that it has been a bad year for most of us. In fact the past few years have been. If something good doesn't happen, we are all in trouble. How are you doing?
They did tell us that there were going to be many changes and they are working on them. I hope they get them fixed soon. I know what you mean. It is hard when things are this slow.
That is so exciting! Is this your first grand-child? I love being a Nana. We have four Grand-kids now. Since we moved, they are so far away though.
Sounds like you are starting out with the right attitude! You go girl! I miss you in the gather community. Please visit us more. :)
WE got about an our away from home when we got the cell call that we had a grand-daughter. We arrived at the hospital to see them as soon as we could, breaking a few speeding limits a long the way. I stayed with her a couple weeks to help with the baby. It was an exciting time.
Have fun and enjoy that new baby as soon as it arrives!
Why did you quit your job?
He is on meds day and night and he hardly sleeps at all, and when He is awake He just wants to be Held and Rock, poor little guy,.
We have Him most of the time now, trust me, it is best for Him.
We raised our Children 30 years ago and I sure didn't plan on starting over, but little James needs our Love and Care more than ever now.
Your so Right about, What is Important!~
Blessings,Friend!
Last year was a bad year for many of us. It sure was our family personally. My husband's job closed down, we nearly lost our home, we had to move to another state to find new employment and then there was health issues. . . the list goes on and on. Like you, the year stunk! Big time!
Sure hope this is a better year for you too. Happy New Year!
I have been spending much of my time on other sites--ones that will continue to compensate me even if we do move abroad. I am debating what to do with my account if and when we leave the U.S.
I will go over to your profile page to see if I can find an update on you. I must admit that I was unaware of your pending move.
So, within the next 1 1/2-2 years (perhaps, less), we should be packing up and heading out of the country.
So sorry to hear of your computer problems...I don't know what I would do without one even for one day!
Sending you my very best wishes for the New Year!
I have to admit that I was totally lost. I have come to depend on my computer for just about everything from driving directions, new and exciting recipes, making money, to purchasing appliances. My whole life is on my computer. All my family photos are here as well as my music. If someone would have told me 40 years ago, I would have my life on a computer, I would have laughed but now it has become reality.
I love your posts. I know you put a lot of time and energy into them. It shows too. Have a wonderful new year!
I keep trying to organize everything so its easier to backup and/or copy to other sites but I'm sure when it crashes it will come at a very inconvenient time...or is there ever a convenient time for something like this?
Thank you for your comment about my posts...I do try to post something meaningful or interesting, although not every post can be a 'masterpiece' LOL
Too bad you now have to deal with Windows 8.
Your latest prompt was great. I can't respond with a submission but will start submitting again soon. I can't wait to read the submissions. 2012 has been a hard year for us and I am so off schedule with moving and such. Everything happened so fast and was so hard.
I have to make a new schedule and stick to it. I am a schedule person.
Thank you for all you do in the WE group. You are a wonderful editor.
My computer has been worn our for a couple years. The battery was dead and had to be continually plugged into power. The power cord was broken and had to lay a certain way without moving or it would not work. Also it was so slow but it was mine and I hated to part with it. It just finally quit on me. I hate windows 8! I hate it!!
Your book review was excellent! I have got to read his books.
It is so good to see you. Gather has been slow and experiencing some problems as of late but they are working on it so I do hope you will have more time to post again soon. :)
