     INNOCENCE  SOARING

...our Lord come to earth

in innocence shared

in humble birth,

to herald the place

in Heaven prepared 

offering this gift

in grace from above

given to man

with the purest of love

the gift too, of will that remains

allowing belief, or from it refrain,

born to the world in humility

symbol for all eternity

and too, the forgiving

when man has forgotten

on his fellowman trod

has innocence ruined

gift of life so defiled

Christmas remains in the gift

of Christchild

our Lord come to earth

to herald the place

in Heaven prepared!

As a mother watching mothers and fathers and other loved ones as they struggle through

the loss of their children, whether actually one of the twenty children, or in the persons of

the teachers,  administrators and others, I found it striking in listening to the hearts

of these parents as they spoke, even as they shed tears in the speaking, of FEELING the

depths of darkness that must have overcome the one who commited this deed.

 Emilie Alice Parker's mother, through tears, exclaimed that hate was an emotion for which

 she had no room, "It would completely overwhelm me!" Instead she chose to celebrate,

 even in her anguish, still having her husband and Emilie's two younger sisters.

Never did I hear the word HATE but only hope in changing the situation that would cause

such suffering. I heard of the concern and wondering what the father of Adam Lanza, is

feeling, knowing his son is responsible for the grief of the world.

There is commonly talk about the good that always comes from out of bad. I could not think

 in terms of good, only that attention will be paid more to what may keep the bad from

 happening.

Greater  attention to better systems dealing with ANY kind of emotional or mental condition

that is a detriment to the ones suffering these conditions, so that their feelings of inner pain

will  become more evident and dealt with so as to free them and not to cause harm to

themselves or others.

One young man somehow caught  in the down spiraling of the evil  within his mind has made

an imprint on Sandy Hook Elementary School and the entire future of a Connecticut town

but has given an entire nation pause to consider what has not, up to this point, worked.
