Former Taxi star Danny DeVito and his Cheers wife Rhea Perlman are the recipients of some sage marriage advice from none other than good friend and Wall Street star Michael Douglas. Might there be a reconciliation instead of divorce in their future?
According to a report from RadarOnline, Douglas has urged DeVito to work really hard to repair his marriage.
"When Michael found out Danny and Rhea were splitting up, he told Danny he thought he was making a big mistake," a source says . "Michael loves Rhea and he told Danny he will never find another woman quite like her. They complement each other perfectly and are the best of friends."
Michael Douglas, who is happily married himself to the beautiful Catherine Zeta-Jones, is confident the couple will wind up back together again.
"He (DeVito) said he should do whatever it takes to win Rhea back and come to his senses fast before it is too late. It's because of Michael they are talking to each other," the source adds. "They are still trying to work things out, and for the moment they are just good friends, but they are heading in the right direction."
DeVito and Perlman announced their split back in October after 30+ years of marriage. Danny DeVito's wandering eye is cited as the cause of the split.
Can Michael Douglas work marriage miracles for other Hollywood couples? Might there be a new calling for the actor playing Matt Damon's lover in a Liberace biopic in the future?
