If anyone had wondered whether or not Jon Stewart would go after Fox's "War on Christmas" coverage, the answer is yes, he did. On the Monday night edition of "The Daily Show" Stewart ripped the network's annual coverage of the movement of corporations, government buildings and other venues to celebrate the more secular side of Christmas, and remove things like nativity scenes. "It's as though the 'War on Christmas' has become a rote observance, devoid of all its original spiritual meaning," Stewart joked, a poke at the holiday itself.
The joke was done by using a game that The Daily Show titled "Make Fox News Mad Libs" and also commented on the fact that some Fox news anchors, such as Bill O'Reilly and Gretchen Carlson, did not seem as gung-ho as they did in previous years. For those who remember, Bill O'Reilly and Stewart had a war of words on their respective shows last year. The video of one of those exchanges is below.
Whether or not Christmas is based upon the birth of Jesus Christ (which actually happened in April most likely according to scholars, if it happened at all) people do have the right to not be forced into celebrating a holiday "the Christian way" with nativity scenes and other religious symbols in government buildings. But, at least it gives Fox News something to do, now that the election is over. And Jon Stewart? Well, just wait until he gets warmed up Bill O'Reilly.

But that one goes to O'Reilly! Pin head!
But then I love most times of the year, being happy most of the time just like my dear, departed Mom. (Not too fond of blackfly season, though.)
First, Christians are idiots. The evidence doesn't support the bible being factual. There is no evidence for the flood, and the only evidence that Jesus Christ was a real person is in the bible itself. A small child could look at the evidence and come to the conclusion that Christianity is absolutely, without doubt, not true.
Two, Christians are two-faced. They go around judging everyone and feel great about it because of their supposed superiority, since they "found Jesus". Christians have no sympathy or common human decency that isn't based upon their faith. They will pretend to like you as long as you are a Christian. For instance, I had a Christian friend who was helping me with a fast I was trying to for weight loss. One day, he told me to pray for strength on a fast, and I told him that I didn't believe in God or in the power of prayer. He hasn't spoken to me since.
Three, Christians are the most hypocritical people on the planet. As an agnostic, I don't know what I believe, and I freely admit it. I also don't mind being wrong once in a while and I try to keep an open mind. Christians on the other hand, preach against homosexuality while having homosexual sex on the side (Ted Haggard), or fight against gay rights as a Christian attorney while taking teenage girls out of the country to film them having sex (Lisa Biron)
Four, Christians are sheep. Whatever their pastor tells them must be true and nothing that you can say or any evidence that you present will make a difference. That's why there are thousands of people who believe the ridiculous claim that the earth is only 9000 years old. Good lord, any fifth grader can tell you that's absolute hogwash.
Five, Christians are hateful. For centuries, Christians persecuted the rest of the world who didn't believe what they did, and even today, they are hateful to those who don't share their beliefs. The Westboro Baptist Church is an extreme example to be sure, but it's not the only one.
Six, Christians are a disease. They can't be content with believing what they believe and letting everyone else believe what they want. They try to spread their beliefs any way that they can - even if it requires lying or (as mormons call it) giving people "milk before meat", which is just a way to say they gloss over the bad stuff and focus on the good stuff. There should be a law preventing Christian parents from teaching their children stupid ideas like man walked with dinosaurs and that the bible is literal fact.
Seven, the morals in the bible are atrocious. As a human being, I have an innate sense of what is right and wrong, and half the crap in the bible that is condoned by God is absolutely, totally wrong. Just one example of this is the fact that God says in the bible that you can beat your slave to death if you want, as long as he dies in a couple of days instead of the same day that you beat him. What the hell???????
I hope that answers your question.
However, to say that "Christianity is absolutely, without doubt, not true" is to display the same kind of dogmatism and the same lack of comprehension of the Bible that those obnoxious pseudo-Christians loudly demonstrate.
While I can accept that some people believe that the bible is literal fact, just like I can accept that some of my geek peers think that The Force in Star Wars is a real thing, what I can't accept is that many Christians push their beliefs so strongly on others. Some of us don't want to go to church or read the bible, no matter how much you want us to.
My geeky friends who believe that The Force is real don't go around distributing pamphlets and hating on everyone who doesn't believe what they do.
Last, I will mention that even if evidence came to light that the bible really was the word of God, and that every word of it was true, I would still disagree with the morals and principles in it. If the God of the bible is real, he is a vain, arrogant and insecure God who revels in war, torture and pain and suffering, and if he came down and stood before me right now, I'd tell him that straight to his face.
Okay, I have to stop commenting on my own articles and get back to work lol
But so is Mister Legend - to such a great extent that I am copying his above comment to my quote list. Diplomacy has it's place, but freshwater truth in an ocean of lies can be a wonderfully refreshing beverage!
Retire this evening knowing you've done your good deed for the day, Mister Legend.
Wow, talk about not being well-read. It's like a comedy show around gather.com sometimes.
Your ignorance is your problem my friend.
(Thank you, Hyper. Very kind.)
Notice liberals always have to remind you they are highly educated
and these many Christians you talk of are the liberal Christians.
A united Methodist Church by my house was just torn down. They are mega liberal . They couldn't find more than a hand full of people it seems like to come to their services.
I went to a Episcopal Church, mega liberal also, a few times by my house and there may have been 100 people that there.
I was trying trying to find a smaller Church. The Church that I am a member at has 50,000 members and the other Church I went to as a boy has 40,000 members.
You see my friend, if A Christian Church has members that believe God and his word. The Church grows and keeps growing.
If a church is spiritually dead. It will show. Hard to get members.
I believe that a literal interpretation of the Bible is for children only.
Your ignorance is your problem my friend. I would not dare judge something I know nothing about. I would feel foolish.
Well take care Rory.
Oh I just remembered, there is one large liberal church in my city that has has a few thousand members, 10 or 15 maybe. That's pretty big.
If billions of people were to suspend disbelief in order to buy a fantasy, instead of looking for the moral of the story, I would still not buy in.
My belief in God is based on rationality, not fairy tales.
I was talking about the above Rory.
Being well read is better than many of the institutions.
I was never impressed with framed paper on a wall.
Have a good day Rory. My little dog made me get up early this Saturday morning.
