The 50 Shades of Grey movie recently seemed to get a new favorite for the role of Christian Grey in Man of Steel star Henry Cavill.
The actor didn't say no to the role when he was asked about playing Christian during a recent interview, so he became the most talked about casting option for a few days. But can Superman defeat heavy favorites Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder?
A new poll on Latinos Post has pitted ten of the favorites for the role against each other, and it looks like Henry is having a hard time catching up to his competition—he's going to need to use a little of his Superman speed to surpass the votes that Matt and Ian are getting.
Right now Ian Somerhalder is winning the poll with over 40 percent of the vote, and he's so far ahead that Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill couldn't beat him if they combined their votes together. Matt has about 28 percent of the vote while Henry is far behind at about 8 percent. Alexander Skarsgard is in fourth place with a little over 6 percent, and Ryan Gosling is trailing him closely with 5.5 percent.
Henry has a lot in common with Matt and Ian looks-wise. All the guys have angular jawlines that Anastasia Steele could use to saw her handcuffs off with, and they all have sexy eyes and buff bods. So why can't Henry catch up to his competition for the 50 Shades of Grey movie?
It could be because he doesn't have the same kind of fan following yet. For years women have been tuning in to watch Matt and Ian on the TV series White Collar and The Vampire Diaries, but Henry's TV show The Tudors went off the air back in 2010. Matt also helped his female fan base grow by starring in the Magic Mike movie while Ian wins women over with all the charity work he does.
Ian is a bigger tabloid darling that both Henry and Matt, so that might be why he's still winning polls by so much, and Henry might be finishing below both guys because fans have learned so little about him. However, this could change as he begins to promote the Man of Steel movie—fans might warm up to him more once they get to know him better.
So do you think that Henry still deserves to be in third place, and can he ever overtake Matt and Ian?
