Some 50 Shades of Grey movie fans have probably fantasized about seeing Henry Cavill with a pair of handcuffs, and now they'll get their chance.
But unfortunately he's not damaging Anastasia Steele's delicate wrists and ankles with the bondage gear—instead Henry can be seen wearing a pair of handcuffs in the new poster for the Man of Steel movie.
Ana is always getting punished for her bad behavior with a little bondage, so some Fifty fans might find it refreshing to see the tables turned on a Christian Grey favorite. The Man of Steel poster features many shades of gray, but Superman's suit is still blue, red, and yellow. Apparently he's been a naughty boy because a bunch of soldiers are escorting the handcuffed superhero down a hallway. Obviously he's no Christian Grey—if he wanted to, Superman could easily dominate the soldiers, escape, and fly away with the handcuffs (obviously he'd want to save them to use on Lois Lane later).
Man of Steel looks like it's going to be a lot darker than the last Superman movies, and if this is the case, the film might make Henry Cavill an even bigger favorite for the 50 Shades of Grey movie. Christian Bale became a fan favorite for the role because of his darker take on Batman in Christopher Nolan's movies, so why wouldn't the same thing happen for Henry? He's actually the right age to play Christian Grey while Bale is a little too old for the role.
However, it's possible that the new Superman movie won't help Henry win the role since it doesn't come out until next June. By then fans might already know who is going to play Christian Grey. If it's not Henry, then it might be Ian Somerhalder or Matt Bomer.
It's just a shame that each guy can't get their own movie since the 50 Shades series is a trilogy. If filmmakers did this, then Henry would have to get cast in 50 Shades Freed since it's the book with the really kinky handcuff scene.
So does seeing Henry in cuffs make you want to see him cast as Christian even more?
