Ted Nugent isn't dead or in jail—even though he promised he'd be one or the other if President Barack Obama won his second term. Instead of honoring his promises, the Nuge has taken to his Washington Times column to blast welfare recipients and share his two cents regarding their voting rights.

Conservatives like Ted are hypocrites; calling out for "smaller government" while demanding more government interference in the lives of those you dislike is becoming the norm with his type. Now he says that welfare recipients shouldn't be allowed to vote. He said the following:
"Let's also stop the insanity by suspending the right to vote of any American who is on welfare. Once they get off welfare and are self-sustaining, they get their right to vote restored. No American on welfare should have the right to vote for tax increases on those Americans who are working and paying taxes to support them. That's insane."
So basically Ted Nugent wants the GOP to go after voting laws that would suppress the votes of welfare recipients. Hasn't anyone ever told this guy that the majority of welfare recipients are in red states? So in this fantasy world created by Nugent and other conservative dingbats, most red states wouldn't be allowed to vote.
Hey, maybe nobody should tell them that, and the rest of the country can laugh as the GOP finishes digging its own proverbial grave.

As far as Nugent, he does go too far sometimes. There is no way that you can take away the right to vote any more that you can take away the right to own guns or go to the church of your choice. However, there is a danger in a high percentage of people who don't have any financial stake in a country.
Walter Williams, a brilliant economist suggested something that I think makes a lot of sense. Every single American is guaranteed one vote. However, for every 20,000 dollars you pay in net taxation ( minus deductions etc...) you earn another vote. No rights are denied and incentives to pay taxes is there. Plus I think it's more fair to those who pay in large amounts of taxes to have more influence than those who take large amounts of tax dollars out.
Just sell the country to the rich and stop being a citizen, become a consumer only.
Why do Republicans love the rich more than everyone else. Do you think idolizing them will get you into the club? (It won't. Well, maybe in the servants entrance.)
You are perverting what your country was founded as: a society that aspired to being classless.
So paying lots of money into a country to earn another vote is dangerous but borrowing money from China to pay for the promise made to people who don't pay taxes is nobel?
Now close your eyes, click your heels and say that three times. Liberalism is the epitome of binary thinking.
""Your options are not limited to borrowing money from China or selling your national soul to the highest bidder. ""
"Vote for me and I will tax the rich and give you more free stuff". No greed or selfishness there...
R.F. you got me. I have been working on a secret right wing team assembled to take away your vote. Your good. Really good...
Regulating voting age and a person who forfeits their right to vote through illegal activity hurts democrats indeed because man the things you could promise to felons and 10 year kids is endless! I understand your frustration.
""If we are going to take the vote away from welfare recipients, we should also take the vote away from the very rich. ""
You see there you go. I never said we should take a welfare recipient's right to vote.
"Vote for me and I will tax the rich and give you more free stuff". No greed or selfishness there...
Of course, Obama never made that promise. This is one of the major faults with conservative commentary. Rather than argue against what liberals actually say and stand for, you rephrase their argument to make it say what you think it stands for, and then you argue against your own characterization rather against what they really stand for. It's disingenuous.
Cut the crap. You are one of the biggest hypocrites and biggest offenders of the things you whine about. Aside from that, people who voted for him didn't get the memo that they weren't getting free stuff.

I'm a multi gun owner and I agree with your reasoning.
My guns are all insured through my home owners insurance policy, they each have a proper bill of sales and I was required to complete a Federal Gun Buyers/Owners request form and had to pass both an FBI and State Law Enforcement Division background check prior to purchasing each of my guns.
No problem with/for me, I believe in responsible gun ownership with qualification and documentation requirements, as well as sensible/reasonable gun regulations and control.
Nothing wrong with owning a weapons, its an American right, like voting, owning and investing in stock, whatever. So you know how I get when folks that don't know you want to label you for your right to think for yourself.
Reason ownership of a weapon with insurance and other fees will not in it self reduce crime. The suggested required fees for purchase of a weapon creates revenue for innocence victims who may suffer in the aftermath of a violent episodic event as well increasing funds needed for law enforcement. This suggestion does not restrict gun ownership in America, I believe it is well reason idea.
Who the Hell does this Nugent asshole think he is, much less, what right he thinks he has to suggest that certain Americans have no right to vote ??? !!!
Hell Ted, and Donald and the rest of the frauds can say all they want. Ted still has a shit lode of guns and to date the government hasn't confiscated not one piece of his arsenal. So why does the NRA 'rock n roll' turd admit he's a damn fake.
I never questioned his right to speak, I only questioned where he concluded that he was endowed with the right, to be suggesting that such an unAmerican restrictive voting policy should be instituted on welfare recipients.
Seeing as how you and several of your friends are always throwing out the Constitution in an attempt to defend such asinine people, in doing so, you might also remember, that the same rights are guaranteed to me as well.
During the Bush administration a lot of liberals opined that they would move to Canada if they could not get rid of the destructive Republican agenda that was destroying the country. This made sense, because Canada is a far more liberal country than the USA. Angry about the bla... about Obama being in office some conservatives have adopted the liberal threat of departing for Canada. Which makes no sense because Canada has many more of the kind of policies that make conservative heads spin around.
So Nugent talks about leaving the country, probably imagining that there is somewhere that is anxious to have reactionary hate mongers descend on them. Of course, there isn't anywhere else in the world that the American right wing is welcome.
And is this something you're proud of?
But Bubba honestly owned up to it. When I said "once upon a time only white men could vote", Bubba responded: "Yes-s-s! Those were the days.."
Bubba, you are a racist and that is vile. Racism is the assumption that you are superior to those who are not like you, that (in this case) your white skin matters more than the black or brown skin of non-whites. It's wrong, you're clearly not superior, and its abhorrent.
But you are an honest racist, and at least I can appreciate your honesty. The rest of your fellow travellers in the land of right wing quackery are unable to own up to their racism, but continue to couch it in a lot of weasel words and political correctness. Despite the fact that your remarks are the equivalent of crapping your pants in public, you have put them to shame.
Ted Nugent is starting to look like an old, angry lunatic.
