Science’s Looming ‘Tipping Point’
It is essential in these exuberant times to pay critical attention to both the observational constraints and to the basic mathematical laws, with a clear sense of what is solid theory and what is only unsupported speculation. This seeming platitude is offered here without jest, because at the present time there are ‘theories’ – scenarios sometimes quite detailed – seriously and often passionately held, for almost every exotic astronomical object that is not resolved in the telescope. In contrast, the one star that can be properly resolved – the pedestrian Sun – exhibits a variety of phenomena that defy contemporary theoretical understanding.
— Eugene N. ParkerÂ
A ‘tipping point’ in science is supposed to happen when the weight of evidence against a theory tips the balance of opinion against it. But we are dazzled in this space age by computer-generated ‘virtual reality’ and the sheer technological brilliance of applied science. So it can come as a surprise to be told that modern theoretical science is in crisis.
Today’s inverted science pyramid rests on the mathematics of imaginary particles and energy described by an acausal quantum theory that no one can explain. Occasionally, the more candid scientists admit they don’t understand basic phenomena like mass, gravity, magnetism, lightning, galaxies and even the Sun! So it is not surprising that planets, stars and galaxies are being discovered that ‘shouldn’t exist’ and most of the visible universe seems to be a mere impurity overwhelmed by mysterious ‘dark matter’ and ‘dark energy.’
In its role as a consensual belief system today’s ‘settled science’ is now confronted with surprising contradictions more frequently than they can be fitted to the dogmas. And because the fundamental mysteries persist unrecognized, Nobel Prizes are awarded for purely imaginary discoveries in physics. The weird nature of those discoveries should serve to warn us that science is at a tipping point of unparalleled magnitude....

Freedom of thought is an interesting subject . Are contemporary humans less free than say 2000 years ago? There is a case for claiming human intelligence has declined relative to former civilizations; which some scientists , geneticists and neuroscientists among them think. From history we know that even the ordinary workers who built Persepolis and other great projects were not slaves and received wages. The achievements in the arts and sciences of previous civilizations were superior in significant ways to contemporary ones. To reverse the decline in intelligence is the challenge today.
Reversing this decline in intelligence is simple..."co-creation". Jesus walked on the water. As did Peter. Possibilities expand our horizons.
Take the attitudes of some to homosexuals as an example of the corruption of religions. The Bible doesn't suggest homosexuals are unnatural members of God's creation.
Humans commit many errors in their behavior. The Bible narrative is about salvation. Whether individuals are homosexual or heterosexual makes no difference in their achieving salvation. Jesus makes this clear, yes? He condemns individuals, families, towns to "fire and brimstone" for rejecting him and his disciples.
Every civilized society accepts the diversity of humans in regard to their sexuality. They all can contribute to the common welfare and to exclude any is a loss for all.
To divide people into believers and non-believers is so often a characteristic of negative, irrational personalities. Bearing witness to one's faith is not irrational. Is there tolerance and compassion?
Contemporary science may not have developed very far but it is part of what we have to work with to increase human intelligence. The dogmas of contemporary religion are an obstacle to educating people to think.
To reverse the decline in intelligence as we are and with the skills we have to work with is the challenge today.
There is another factor in America's drooping intelligence. The acceptance of marijuania amongth the young. "Weed" is known to zap the edge needed to excell. It stores in the fatty part of the body (brain, for instance) and takes a very very long time to leave the brain. Never the same...never the potential.

La-La land is no where to get spiritual insight.
With logging I noticed that they kept calm while in imminent danger...but the edge necessary for normal reaction timing was off. They had to be baby-sat to be kept alive.
True Story ... :-)
Something that I have been writing of quite often here on Gather ... (+=-)

So much of what is being "said" now-a-days by our supposed "experts" is completely mis-represented in that they deal with mis-conceptions and narrow definitions of an extremely multifaceted and wide-ranging inter-connected fields of relativities ... as "they" present the issues, they look at it all as primarily "disconnected" issues which they individually dismiss based upon that narrow minded logic which really completely neglects the truth(s) of the Spiritual INterconnected-ness of the Greater Connectivity (Cosmic and esoteric Astrology) that has so much to do with it all ... and the real reasons that people should be concerned ...

What is it going to take to tip out the old beliefs? Change can occur slowly from the bottom up or rapidly from the top down. Unfortunately, forces from the top tend to favour stasis over change. Modern science has become a monolithic structure funded by governments and tied to political outcomes. Radical change is arguably more difficult to achieve in such a situation than at any time in the past. Funding of dissident scientists is not available, their publication in leading science journals disallowed by the anonymous peer review system and their careers jeopardized. Meanwhile the media lazily accept what they are fed by ‘experts.’
I think that the greatest problem with human thought, as it exists, is it's supposed need for something to base all thinking upon ... such as the linear concept of time with certain points of beginning (Creation~Big Bang), an "anchor point" about which to feel "connected" to with some certainty ...
Scientifically then, the BB is "preferred" and that being an "Explosion", it naturally follows that "The End" will be an "Implosion" ... a "Hot" beginning followed by a "Cold" ending, Light then Darkness.
Religion has "The Other" view which is much like the Scientific One because it deals "Primarily" with Physicality ... and only Secondarily, or Tertiarally if fortunately enough evolved, with the "Spirituality" that it wants to proclaim.
Both views are too much into Dualism (+/-) while they ignore or give too little credit to the "Third Party", the (=) associated with the "Central Balance" of ALL, the Spirit (religiously) and the "Focal Point" of "Light" (scientifically) (according to this posted article concerning an "electrical universe"), and worse, "Gravity" regarded as the primary connectivity (in a material-istic universe).
Dualistic thinking stems from our "pointed base of the inverted pyramid" that we base our perceived (through narrow viewed brainwashing) reality on (the mentioned, and real, TIPPING POINT) ... that very "essence" of our theorized "reality" which still believes that "things" are "separate" from each other, (+/-) condensed from (+=+) and (-=-) ... WHICH WOULD WORKOUT OK IF the AND was seen as THE (=), CONNECTOR, THAT IT IS ! ... then we could understand that (+=+)=(-=-) would be the greater truth as (+=-) The Trinity THAT IS the BET, the Basic Equation of Truth, the REAL UNIverse REALity !
Otherwise, as things are, our HOUSE OF CARDS is very subject to FAILURE ... the ONLY "ends" are but the ever-going and ever-coming, "points" (=) of "change" ... the SPIRIT (=) IS EVERYWHERE ALWAYS IN-VOLVED !
