Baking day.

I drove the hour to my daughter's yesterday and spent the day with her baking Pumpkin Bread.  We doubled the recipe for each batch so we could fill both ovens.  She has two.  It's a good thing or we would never get done.  We had a few mishaps but nothing serious.  The most aggravating was when I had a jar of nuts chopped and dumped the whole thing on the floor when I took the chopper out.  Well I cleaned that mess up and had to do another jar.  Good thing she had plenty of nuts.

We ended up with 18 loaves baked and wrapped and one we sliced so everyone could have a taste.  Her two girls and hubby gave us their stamp of approval.  Warm from the oven with a little butter, it just doesn't get any better.

 

 

 

    Don't they look good?  I took 3 loaves home with me to have when my sister gets here this weekend.

I like them just cool enough so that the butter doesn't melt all of the way. I would take it these will be for gifts?

Some will be gifts. Her mailman and hairdresser have already been asking about it. She sends one home to each household after Thanksgiving dinner.

The mailman will get his today. Gwen will get her's tomorrow when she gets her hair trimmed. She's making another batch today for the 4 guys that work for her hubby.
