The Fifty Shades of Grey casting wars have not only generated some bizarre suggestions for who should play the leading roles of Christian Grey and his submissive miss, Anastasia Steele. Porn star James Deen and Bruce Willis' and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer are prime examples. As if all that wasn't amusing enough, the 50 Shades casting controversy has now spawned its very own conspiracy theory of sorts. The tall tale involves Justin Bieber bringing his star power to the role of Christian, with his Lion King date, Victoria's Secret model, Barbara Palvin as Ana. Wait, there's a method to this madness, but it's complicated.
At about the same time the world learned the earth-shattering news that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's romance had hit the skids, photos of the teen idol cavorting backstage at a fashion show with Victoria's Secret models hit the Internet. Even more astonishing were pics of JB attending The Lion King with a particular model--a raven-tressed beauty named Barbara Palvin. Victoria's Secret is creating a new 50 Shades Of Grey-inspired line of lingerie. Now, fasten your seat belts. This is where things get labyrintine.
"...the Biebs was in London about the same time E.L. James was there," theorized the source. "Did secret meetings take place? ...Victoria's Secret could be working on a great big merchandising effort for the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie. And...Victoria's Secret would insist on Justin Bieber to play the role of Christian Grey. ...Barbara Palvin? Perhaps she is the new Anastasia...Calls to Justin Bieber have gone unanswered."
Justin Bieber's reps aren't returning calls. Golly, wonder why?
Seriously, although the Justin Bieber/Victoria's Secret/50 Shades of Grey movie connection seems far-fetched, it might be true. Weirder things have happened. The whole 50 Shades of Grey global phenomenon is one of them. Of course, just how Justin Bieber would reconcile his squeaky clean teen idol image with a character as dark and perverted as Christian Grey would be a daunting task. However, when there's enough profit at stake, the big money players usually have a way of working things out.
Stay tuned.
