Where to start.

hey Mitt, you lost. so you want to make it harder for the next guy to win by insulting African Americans, single women, college students, and Hispanics? Great plan, keep talking, I am loving it. All those demographic groups are expanding, while the aging white guys who loved You are declining.

But on a deeper level, are you feeaking serious? You are saying that Obama "gifted" his way back into the White House, while you did not hand out ridiculous financial pledges to oil companies, defense contractors, and the super wealthy? Of course you made those promises. and you would have kept those promises, maybe.

has there ever been a president who did not spend more time improving the lives of potential constituents than he spent on improving the lives of his electoral opponents? Just asking. Mitt, if this is your way of redesigning the future Republican Party, maybe it would be better for you to sit down and let somebody else take a turn at the microphone.

Besides that, the Santa Claus metaphor is counterproductive for the Republicans to pursue -- everybody knows Santa Claus gives nicer presents to the rich kids than to the poor kids.

exactly, Jeff, we've reached the tipping point... Romney was right - Obama bought this election keeping the poor in poor circumstances and pushing more into those circumstances - buying votes...

@Linda -- I took Jeff's comment above as referring to the RICH people voting themselves money, but you took it as the POOR people voting themselves money. I think that's the main problem with relying on a pithy quote to make a point: pithy quotes are good for a laugh, but most times they can be construed either way.

Do you mean that Romney didn't intend for any of those 12 million jobs to go to African Americans, single women, college students, and Hispanics? I thought he was offering them stuff (like jobs). But I guess he was only offering stuff (jobs) to white males in the South.

And the gifts were auto workers jobs,ending Iraq war,tax cuts,getting Bin Laden,bring troops home from Afghanistan,oil production up,housing market improving,unemployment at 7.8%..........

I think it is vaguely insulting to argue that young women only voted for Obama because he promised them free birth control pills through their health insurance.

The centerpiece of Romney's campaign, the 5 point plan, was a big grab bag of gifts not to mention stocking stuffers on the side. "Hello large corporation, what do you want for Christmas?"

In the words of Memphis Minnie, "Your aunts and your uncles, your maws and your paws, they all got drunk and showed you Santy Claus."

I'm noting the link to your post yesterday about civil war breaking out in the Republican Party, and fascinated that both Jindal and Walker have fired back at Romney this sharply. It makes you wonder if they aren't questioning their own allegiance to their party, and if change is not coming more swiftly than we imagined it could.
