“The Pineville Heist” is an action-packed thriller that has everything it needs to keep the readers entertained till the very end: a bank robbery gone wrong, a group of friends who are too curious for their own good, and an average teenager who must outsmart the bad guys to save his life. I was pulled into the story from the very first pages and, against my better judgment, I had to stay up late to finish it. I just couldn’t imagine waiting until the next day to find out what happened next. So, Aaron, the main character, is a normal teenager who accidentally finds out about a bank robbery and realizes he had seen the thieves’ escape van in the woods earlier that day. He and his two friends decide to go looking for the money and this is how Aaron ends up witnessing a murder, running with the stolen 5 million dollars and hiding in his high school. His situation seems impossible, especially when the thieves come after him, determined to get their money back.

“The Pineville Heist” doesn’t only have a great plot and surprising twists that make you turn the pages as fast as possible. The characters are believable and very well developed, and I loved how Aaron grew from an everyday teenager into an adult and a hero. This novel also raises questions such as “who is your real enemy?’ and “who should you really trust?” The ending was completely unexpected, but I’m not going to mention more about it, as it would spoil your surprise. Just read the book and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.
