I understand tha there is a normal process that occurs of the losing team venting. I have been on the losing side, so I know about this intimately. But still, some of this is really really tiresome, and pushes that same old envelope of "they did not really win, they just stole it."
Trump, the old comb-overed fool, went on a crazy twitter rant that he later deleted. the less said about the stupid things he said the better. But really Donald, you actually said that Obama lost the popular vote? Wrong by nearly 3 million votes.
Bill O'Reilly accepted the results, sort of, except that he was clearly nostalgic for the days when white folks were firmly in charge, and was sad that Obama was elected by minorities that wanted "stuff." So there not any white guys voting for Romney because they hoped he would give them some stuff? so insulting, so racist, O'Reilly.
and yes, there were plenty of Republicoid pundits talking about Obama's get out the vote efforts, Obama's organization, Yada yada. as if there was no way that you could see those two guys on stage and pick Obama?
I am white. I voted for Obama. I did not vote for him because somebody banged on my door, somebody promised me stuff, or somebody on the Romney team failed to issue a press release. I voted for Obama because of his conduct as President, and I voted against Romney because he did not make much sense, because he contradicted himself on numerous occasions, and because his policy plans seemed to promise damage to our economy and our foreign relations.
It has been 48 hours since Obama won re-election, and the de-legitimizing effort has not caused me to change my mind about Obama. How about my opinion of the de-legitimizing squad! Has it changed that? Wow! No. keep talking guys. keep talking.

For others, like O'Reilly because he reflects a viewer base that is bigoted and has a great deal of influence, all Americans should call out the dishonesty and bigotry of the far right tea party extremists. There is no place in America for the kind of abject bigotry pushed by the tea party. None. Different views on how best to address real issues are perfectly acceptable, even encouraged. But dishonesty, delusion, and bigotry are completely unacceptable in all cases.
America needs to stand up for the greatness that is our diversity and freedom. The tea party represents repression.
The Republican party can recover if it chooses to be honest and purge the bigots of the tea party from its ranks. Until then, it is a disgrace to all of us.
Just Kidding. :)
Texas hasn't seceded yet. What a bunch of flip-floppers!
On the morning of the election people were posting some twitter feed image of someones post that said something like I predict Obama will take an early lead, that is until everyone else gets off of work.. Which is quite ridiculuos, I saw people posting the following day after his victory saying things like where do I go to sign up for food stamps. That one I didn't let slide and made a comment on, and later that day I noticed that that person removed his post, because he knew I was right and that it was ridiculous. People are going to be unhappy about their guy not winning, but honestly sometimes I really wonder about some people, because some of the ones who say they are republican and were angry and upset about Obama winning I find it hard to even figure how they could want someone like Romney to have won office.
You probably won't find me claiming East Coast votes could not have been counted because the power was out. (Grapes sour so fast w/o electricity;-)
You won't catch me presenting a satirical blog post as fact to claim that hundreds of thousands of military votes were not counted. And so would have changed our choice of president.
Even if true, it is statistically unlikely hundreds of thousands of votes - many for Obama - would change the presidency: it was won by millions of votes more than his opponent.
You won't catch me supporting Ted Nugent's harsh Tweet rants. You won't catch me using nasty names to describe Democrats because they didn't support Republicans, as I have seen some social conservatives do here on Gather.
Such tactics scare away those of goodwill.
You will continue to find me disdainful of human nature, and continuing thoughtful, well-informed, unpopular dissent.
