News this morning is that it will likely hit New England. Usually, where I am, it's mostly tree damage.

Glad to hear you are okay. New England is where I am from and have family in Maine, my home state, I hope they don't get hit. Here in S.C. think we may get some rain and high surf.

Thanks. It was a category one and small, but it will set ashore on the U.S. north east coast as a stronger, larger, more dangerous storm.

I was listening to the BBC last night while they were talking w/ some in the DR and they were getting a lot of rain, of course. Glad to hear you are okay. I hope there are no tragedies w/ this storm.

Unfortunately there is one report of a death from Jamaica and over 30 from other Caribbean countries so far.

I live in central SC so we have had nothing but some wind. I've been monitoring the path of the storm and it is being called one of the most destructive ever to hit the U.S. Can you imagine how bad it must be to shut down NY & NJ & other states? And, the NY Stock Exchange? The experts say it will be worse than Irene and that took months to clean up.

Jamaica got it as a category one and it tore up the eastern parts of the island, so the destruction there must be very severe.

We got it as a category one and the eastern parts of Jamaica are a mess, so the destruction there must be terrible.

There was major damage in New Jersey and Manhattan. Long Island was also hit very bad. But they are working on things and trying to get back to some normality.

glad you are fine,, my son is station in Fort Meyer VA, and lives in rented house off base in College Park MD.. he called today and I helped him shop incase of no power for a few days,, for his rommie mainly,, he can go on base if he has too.. he will be there sunday for duty,,,,
