My wife, daughter and myself have watched the Ghost Hunters show diligently since it started and haven't missed an episode yet. After giving it some thought, decided to buy some equipment and give ghost hunting a try ourselves. There are numerous historical and possibly haunted sites in the area.
I acquired :
Fujifilm Full Specturm camera ( customized Finepix S2900 ) with a Phantom Full Spectrum light source. The Phantom Lite includes white, UV and IR emitters.
An Olympus WS-803 Digital Voice Recorder and an old Panasonic RN-302 Microcassette Voice Recorder.
What would a ghost hunt be without a K2 meter ? Used for detecting anomalies in the electromagnetic field and for communicating with ghosts
Custom Ion, electrical impluse, and static electrical field detector and meter. This device is so sensitive that it can detect and measure static electricity caused by someone running their hand through their hair. Also is fun to use to detect and measure electrical pulses of energy caused by lightening during thunderstorms.
Green laser pointer that has a lens used to create a grid pattern to detect shadows.
Since it seems that ghosts have a energy problem, bought a Mini-Tesla coil that can produce a 7,000 volt electrical field. Um, do have to be careful with this item, as anything and anyone getting too close could create some shocking issues.
Photograph taken with the Full Spectrum camera in a local historical cemetary. My daughter is communicating with a ghost using the K2 meter.
My daughter came up with an excellent question procedure, where she asked the ghost to either touch the K2 meter for any answers that were "yes, and then to step away when the answer was "no".
She asked an interactive ghost several qualifying questions:
Are you a man ?
No light movement on the K2.
Are you a woman ?
The lights flashed to red.
Are you a woman in Kansas ( this experiment was done in Texas ) ?
No K2 response.

My daughter then proceeded to tell the ghost to either touch the K2 meter or step away. The K2 responded to each of her requests. Lighting up when asked to touch the meter, or going off when asked to step away.
We both noticed that the responses were becoming weaker as the session continued, and at first suspecting the battery was going dead, I checked it with an electrical multimeter, and that indicated the battery was fine.
I asked the ghost if it would be OK to take 'her' picture, and the K2 became completely inactive, not responding to anything asked. I took the photo posted above anyway, and was dissappointed that 'she' didn't appear in the image.
We both decided to call it quits and as we were returning to the truck to leave, my daughter suddenly turned around and exclaimed, "There she is ! " I turned to look and didnt see anyone and asked my daughter who she was lookng at ?
My daughter told me that she saw a woman pass by us as she was walking away from us. When my daughter turned to get a better look at the woman, the woman vanished.
Another interesting experience at this cemetery was that durjng the experimentation with the camera and the K2 meter, I heard voices at the far side of the cemetery. I thought there was a group of people making fun of us as we tried out the ghost hunting experiments. However, using the Pentax camera, which has a telephoto lens on it, I saw no one, There also was a group of deer where the voices seemed to be coming from and I thought it was odd. The deer would NOT be around a group of people.
I confirmed this by walking towards the far side of the cemetery and when the group of deer saw me, they scatterred. Arriving at the location, I looked for people or anywhere they might have gone. The outer portion of that side of the cemetary is bordered by thick brush and large trees. No way anyone could have been there without me seeing or hearing them arriving or leaving.
I also called out to my daughter, who was still on the other side of the cemetery, and she could NOT hear me calling out her name.
When I returned to the location where my daughter was standing, I commented to her, " Wierd place. Almost seems as though I heard voices coming from the other side of the cemetery ! " My daughter looked at me and said that she also had heard the voices, however, like me, was hesitant to say so.
An interesting and exciting experience for both of us. Never thought that we would have that kind of interaction with a possible ghost. Unfortunately, we did not bring the recorders or other equipment with us. However, we are planning to return to this cemetery to conduct a more complete investigation.
