The Grove Revisited

 1944 deep within the heavily fortified structure simply known as “The Grove” because of the dense forest of orange trees that surrounded the grounds of the gated community, the members of the Old Guard gathered to initiate their plan to overthrow the newly elected President of the United States. Sitting around the 200 year-old blood red oak table the Old Guard sat, a portrait of Hitler hung at the far wall, along with the faces of many of America’s corporate elite, with names such as Bush, Heinz, and Colgate.

“Brothers, of The Old Guard our day has come. We are at the end of our struggle and will soon feast upon the flesh of our enemies. “

“Brothers, our plan is coming to fruition, soon we will sit upon the throne of our destiny, and soon those that have stood against will burn in the fires of our vengeance.” 

  From out of the darkness enters a tall woman with long blond hair, carrying a stack of brown folders handing one to each of her seated masters.  She bows and then returns back into the darkness.

 Again the “Speaker” stands and addresses the room.

“Brothers this is the plan which will make our dreams a reality. We have many followers and friends within the Arm Forces and Washington, once initiated it will very quickly makes us the rulers and new masters of these weak Americans.”

   Suddenly, without warning a flash and bang explode and break the “Speaker’s” rant.

“Sergeant report”

“Captain all the suspects have been killed or captured. All papers and files have been gathered.”

“Good, torch the building and let’s get back to the Sanctuary.”

   2012 deep within the heavily fortified structure simply known as “The Grove” the grandchildren of the Old Guard gathered. The portrait of the father of the Holocaust hung in the back wall along with others that had given so much to further the cause. It had taken many years and untold millions to unearth a copy of the plan and now with the Rommey at the helm they knew that their destiny was at hand.
