I've been having commitment issues here at Gather, but there's always one thing that will get me to come out of the woodwork, and that's NaNoWriMo!
Things have been hectic here since the little lady is walking around and exploring everything. :) A good hectic, of course, that is! I've got a lot to cram into this month-ish left before we kick off NanoWriMo. I will be working on the novel that I planned to write two years ago. I only got 2,000 words done on it since that was the year and month that we moved. The packing, move and unpacking just left no time for NaNo. :(
I dug out my notes and it's almost like a new novel. I don't remember half of these things and it's a good thing that my notes are as detailed as they are! I did, however, notice that I only have 25 plot points. I usually work with no less than 50. This could be either a good thing where I'm allowed to be flexible and travel through the story with the kids and explore as they do or I'm going to fail miserably because I just suck without a plot. I liken writing without a plot to walking around in a foreign house without the lights on. You kick a few walls, a couch and maybe knock over a few things and trip in the process. In the end you DO make it out of the room, but you leave behind one heck of a mess. That mess will be edited later of course, if it doesn't cause the whole plot to go off track. Eeeek, lol.
So, I'm already intimidated by this fantasy thing. I'm not used to it at all, yet at the same time I'm kinda excited for it. This novel has been in the works for a while (off and on, as always) just with the world-building, plot and character work. It seems it was a lot harder and more work than anything I've ever done before, and that, too scares me because I don't want to mess up a good thing. Ah, edit, edit, edit is the mantra here.
So who's in this year? Rene? Renda? Who else? Are you guys prepared? Pantzing it?
As usual, there's some yummy Poser art to accompany the novel. This was made in Poser 9. :)
