Challenge: Write a story or poem about a romantic space comedy set on Mars.
When a person thinks of Mars, they would call it dusty, highly unpopulated and devoid of life. But, they would be wrong. You see my friend Heath and I have been cohabiting there for years without any catching us. You see we are invisible to any human eye and often do funny cartwheels, make faces and generally laugh when no one sees us.
We have emotions like earthlings except that we usually have a more subdued way of doing things. And we grow very slowly as in it would take a light year for us to become the age of twenty. Well, we were immature for many years and did not see the eventuality coming when we started having those odd fluctuations the humans would call hormones.
It had begun the day that we had taken off our space clothes made of Polyblend marvels that stretch and fit like a second skin to bathe in the hot springs, the same thing we had done for years, without any problems for we did not have any inkling about those pesky emotions.
Heath, he had offered to scrub my back for I could not reach it no matter how I tried, my limbs had grown far too gangly. When his hand had touched my skin, I had almost burst out of my shell with the heat that it caused. He had felt the spark, but paid it no mind as he scrubbed me completely from head to toe.
Only when he had finished giving me a through washing and rinsing did he pull me into his arms, fusing his lips to mine. We had made love that day at least that is what I heard it was called on earth and enjoyed it rather immensely.
After that, our mutual scrubs had taken a seriously different turn, each time rather eager to have our hands on each other. A moon blip later, or in earthling’s terms, a year later, we had our first child, a boy, and two years later, a girl. Then, our populating got out of control, we had a whole planet full of children and as that goes, we were caught by humans, made to leave the planet and now live in test tubes for the rest of our lives.
All because of those blasted hormones!

And, thanks John for the comment and the feature
After all, it's true! It's all the hormones' fault!
Thanks Sheila
Thanks for sharing with The Surreal Circus.
Humans have only been around for a relatively short time and our long-term future is uncertain. Who knows what life-forms have gone before and will come after....
