Justin Bieber's Twitter account was eerily silent earlier on Wednesday. It took the "Boyfriend" singer and boyfriend of Selena Gomez a while to come to grips with the heartbreaking news he received. Little Avalanna Routh--a 6-year-old cancer patient who won his heart by pretending to marry the pop star and calling herself Mrs. Bieber--passed away.
According to a report from the Boston Herald, when Justin came to grips with the reality of this tragedy, he took to Twitter to express his condolences and to ask his fans to pray.
"just got the worst news ever. one of the greatest spirits i have ever known is gone. please pray for her family and for her," Justin tweeted.
After a moment he added more.
"RIP Avalanna. I love you," and "please show respect to her and her family. say a prayer for her and for them. i miss her."
Justin first met Avalanna when a plea on Facebook asked the singer to meet the little girl suffering from brain cancer. He flew Avalanna and her family to New York where she spent the day eating cupcakes, playing games and talking music with her favorite singing star.
Justin Bieber took a chance with his heart when he met Avalanna Routh. He knew her odds for survival weren't good and that he one day soon might need to say goodbye. Yet he met her and corresponded with her often--providing the little girl with a dream come true that she nor her family ever imagined might happen.
When fans say a prayer for Avalanna Routh and her family tonight, maybe they should say one for Justin, too. When someone has a heart with such a huge capacity for giving, it breaks easily. And Justin's is no doubt broken tonight.
