No matter that her family burps in one another's faces for fun, Honey Boo Boo and her self-proclaimed house full of rednecks still won't go away. TLC reps talk about the new season--which starts Wednesday--and why the show is so popular.
According to a report from People.com, it's true. They're baaaaack!
"Alana and her family have become a pop culture phenomenon," Amy Winter, general manager of TLC, says in a recent statement. "What you see is what you get, and we are excited to share even more of their unbridled hilarity, sincerity and love with our viewers."
How about absolute disgust instead of unbridled hilarity? If you think a burping game was bad (The family members actually closed their eyes and burped in each other's faces. The 'winner' could identify the 'burper' by the smell of their belch!) then there's the matter of how little Alana Thompson is being raised. Even worse than prompting her to strut her 6-year-old stuff on the beauty pageant stage, she was heard telling her pregnant teenage sister that she knew her baby was going to come out of her 'biscuit.'
When the baby actually emerged from Chickadee's (the pregnant teenaged sister) 'biscuit' she was replete with two thumbs on one hand.
And this is what the American public is clamoring to watch? How much sicker can it possibly get?
If Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is a 'pop culture phenomenon,' than this culture has reached an all-time low. Will you be tuning in to TLC to catch up on Alana Thompson, Mama June Shannon and the rest of the very questionable cast of characters on Wednesday?
If so, God help you. Someone should be saving this poor little girl--not exploiting her.
