In a recent interview, Robert Pattinson was praised to the skies by his Cosmopolis co-star, Academy Award-winning actress Juliette Binoche. She also evinced sympathy for Kristen Stewart considering all the bad press and public hate she's had to endure since the story of her cheating scandal with Rupert Sanders broke two months ago.
In David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, Juliette Binoche plays Rob's "art dealer and lover" who visits him in his limo to discuss art investments and to engage in some hot vehicular sex. It was a brief yet unforgettable cameo performance by the French actress who won a Best supporting Actress Oscar for her role opposite Ralph Fiennes in The English Patient. Apparently, RPattz and La Binoche bonded during their brief tenure together on the Cosmopolis set. She has nothing but positive things to say about the Twilight Saga star and the experience of working with him.
"That was great," Juliette enthused. "I was astonished to see how much of a cinephile Robert was, and how ambitious—he wants to produce and has strong views of what he wants to do in the movie world."
As for the fact that Rob has recently been going through what the interviewer euphemistically called "a tough time," Binoche was philosophical and quite sympathetic.
"Well, I witnessed Jude Law going through hell as well," she mused. "—it can be a nightmare when people have to deal with their intimacies in public. It's not respectful, so I felt for him and for her [Kristen Stewart] as well.'
So, there you have it. Robert Pattinson is fortunate to have a friend who is supportive and understanding without trying to control him or influence his decisions. As for KStew, she's blessed to have Binoche's support and empathy by proxy—especially when so many women have been all too eager to attack her.
You go, Juliette!
