Which is Harder? Getting Back to Gather or Staying Here?

Things just have been crazy here lately! I've been meaning to get back here to see what everyone has been up to and to share some of our latest goings-ons and it just never seems to happen!

Between the little lady (who will be 2 in May), working my tail off to afford this ginormous Lego set for Gideon's 10th birthday, finishing up (or trying to) a WIP novel and going on to work on this year's NaNo and everything else life has thrown my way it's just not happening! YIKES!

I manage sometimes to pop in here, but I don't stay long because the site is so painfully slow to load pages. Is it others or is it just me?

Anyway, what's harder in your estimation? Getting back to the swing of things here or staying here once you finally get your butt back in Gather? LOL

For me it is harder to stay. I get so addicted to the games on Facebook. LOL

I used to be addicted to Bubble Witch, Bubble Safari, Farmville and Castleville. Now I've moved more to Wizard101, which is worse. It costs to play that game, lol.

I'm so glad to see I'm in good company with having issues staying/coming here, lol. Still, we need to work on that, don't we? The GOOD news is that it's almost NaNo time. NaNo makes me come out of the woodwork and enjoy networking with the others participating over here. :)

John, this place has changed so much since I joined. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worst. I've always been here, though up until I had my daughter, then that kinda changed things.

Here's the deal Jen ~ I love Gather ~ The slowness is the only problem right now here. And, by the time the Site spins around (if ever), I've forgotten what I was doing, or the post disappears that I was about to FEATURE, or the comment I wrote disappears -- or the Article I was posting evaporates. It is a real task sometimes, but then at other times, it is okay.

But, as I see William saying in the comment below, the glitches do make it frustrating. As if everybody is not frustrated enough as it is ~ L O L...

WE come here to relax and talk with our Gather Friends -- if they aren't caught up in the slow drag ~ ahahah!

I hear you William. I often go off and do things while I wait for the pages to load. Problem is I forget to come back since it takes that long to load anything. Pitiful
When the site runs slow I move on to other sites. Mainly at night its sluggish for me. I have been a member of Gather for years and plan on being here for many more. As long as Gather stays around.

I've never seen the site anything but slow every time I pop in. I pop in all times of the day, too. Which is why I thought it might have just been me, but all other sites run normally. It's just Gather. :/

I will never completely leave Gather, but I'm not sure how fully I'll be here either. It's been ages since I cleared everything on the feed... that is when the feed decides to work (yes, I still use the old, glitched feed) I wish they would fix the sluggish page load issue. I could pretty much deal with everything else if that was addressed.

...well, I can't say that all other Sites are running normally Jen...even Google acts crazy for the simplest of things. Trying different browsers is a fascinating experience...

If you flip from one browser to another, you may get better results. I never use IE, so I don't know how that one is -- hate it!

My favorite one was firefox, but too many people have caught on to that one.

Then there is Google Chrome.

I bellieve it also has a lot to do with how much stuff you have on your computer too. But Gather Site is painfully slow at times.

My Linux system was AWESOME ~ I may need to go back to that, because it whipped through everything no matter how many Sites were having problems.

I'm really glad you've raised this issue, because I find the slowness of loading, glitches etc. quite frustrating, and I thought it was only me, but now I can see that everybody is having the same problems, so I feel better. I've been a Gather member only for a year and I enjoy it very much.

HUGS to you Irina ~ I'm glad you've responded to Jen on this topic for discussion, because I've been seeing a lot of other posts on the issues that are brought up in these comments.

I ditto what you've shared, and I also have to say that I really love Gather in spite of the glitches.

I've never left but slowed down significantly once the points dropped so drastically.
I'm trying to work my way back to being a lot more active here around what is an extremely active life away from the house and my computer.

Gather thinks celebrity sex gossip is more important. Coming here is asking yourself for a bad headache. Leaving is easy, rather than waiting. Come back another time to see if this pokeyman site has improved.

Yep, it's a slow site, but I really don't care. If I have something else to do, I do it, then I come play on Gather again for a while.
