WASHINGTON (AP) -- Nearly 6 million Americans -- significantly more than first estimated-- will face a tax penalty under President Barack Obama's health overhaul for not getting insurance, congressional analysts said Wednesday. Most would be in the middle class.
The new estimate amounts to an inconvenient fact for the administration, a reminder of what critics see as broken promises.
The numbers from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office are 50 percent higher than a previous projection by the same office in 2010, shortly after the law passed. The earlier estimate found 4 million people would be affected in 2016, when the penalty is fully in effect.
That's still only a sliver of the population, given that more than 150 million people currently are covered by employer plans. Nonetheless, in his first campaign for the White House, Obama pledged not to raise taxes on individuals making less than $200,000 a year and couples making less than $250,000.
And the budget office analysis found that nearly 80 percent of those who'll face the penalty would be making up to or less than five times the federal poverty level. Currently that would work out to $55,850 or less for an individual and $115,250 or less for a family of four.
Average penalty: about $1,200 in 2016.
This was published in today's paper and is further proof that Obama DOES NOT care about the middle class. Of course Obama Lied as usual!!!

Want the truth? Ask a Conservation. Want to be jerked around? Ask a liberal/progressive/leftist/socialist/marxist/communist/democrat.
Repeat after me: If it is not a tax, it is not Constitutional.
The health care plan is not designed to provide health care to American citizens. It is designed to mandate that everyone in this nation is to have health care insurance. If you cannot afford a new car, or to purchase a new house, a government mandate without a plan to allow the purchases will not bring you any closer to having a new car or a new house. But, if the government tells you that if you do not purchase a new car or a new house, and you will be taxed for not doing so, you will not only not have a new car or a new house, you will be punished for not making the purchases. This health care plan is a taxation. Why else would the Internal Revenue Service be chosen to be the collection agency for a health care plan?
I have argued until I am just exhausted with those who have not read the bill, yet they still seem to think they are more qualified to argue the details of the plan than those who have read the bill in its entirety. The truth is that many will continue to not have health care insurance, but even though they cannot afford the insurance, they will be taxed (money that they do not have) for not purchasing the health care insurance. The government does not give a damn if they have health care insurance, or not, as long as they pay the tax.
Small businesses and large corporations have promised that they will eliminate employees simply because they cannot afford to provide the employees with health care insurance, and yes, they will be taxed as well for not conforming to the details of the bill. McDonalds has already been given a waver, whereas they will not be forced to pay for the health care insurance for their employees, so how will the bill help those employees. The overall scenario is actually quite simple. You are not required to have the health care insurance, regardless of what the government or the mainstream media is telling you. You have a choice of purchasing the health care insurance, or you pay the government for not doing so. The government knows that many individuals and companies will not be able to meet the standards, so the government is going to allow them to pay a taxation for not doing so. This is a tax, not a health care plan. It is guaranteed to raise the cost of health care and it will lower the quality of health care. What kind of person is willing to let the federal government be in charge of their health care concerns? Certainly, not me...

Did you see where it's been said that this mandate will cripple the IRS?
But I did find this:
Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight, issued the following statement after today’s Oversight subcommittee hearing on the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) implementation of Obamacare:
“The full magnitude of Obamacare is finally starting to rear its ugly head above the surface. Today, we learned the IRS cannot provide a cost estimate of the economic burden imposed by 17 rules of Obamacare, with more rules to follow. The IRS estimates compliance with these rules will require at least 80 million man hours, hardly the prescription for economic recovery. That outrageous figure comes directly from the White House’s own documents. The IRS agreed this Administration played a role with the agency’s decision to break federal law by taxing employers and providing subsidies in a federally run health insurance exchange.
“More than creating new burdens on the IRS, Obamacare continues to lead to new taxes and regulations posing serious threats to job creation. As a former surgeon and owner of a small practice in South Louisiana, I am fully aware of how taxes, rules, and regulations from Washington can impede small businesses in addition to patient care. As we found out during today’s hearing, making the IRS both revenue collector and administrator of implementation diverts scant resources from the central mission of the IRS at the expense of taxpayers.”

1. Its a misdemeanor offense for a live legal resident person to be found unisured.
2. Fines will be added to our tax bill.
3. NOW LISTEN TO THIS ONE: Mandate does not require undocumented residents to purchase coverage.. Illegals must still receive benefits.... THEIR costs will be passed on to others...
