An incredible cheetah video shows a caravan of tourists going through the Masai Mara National Reserve stopped by the animal who jumped on one of the jeeps and sat there for a reported 45 minutes, causing those in the car to freeze, and take video of the cheetah. This story was originally reported by The Today Show, but the original YouTube video says that the caravan was stopped for about a three-quarters of an hour while the cheetah lounged.
The video shows the cheetah approaching the jeep, and then jumping on the vehicle in a quick fluid motion, peering curiously at the tourists before turning around and checking out the rest of the cars in the caravan. Eventually, the big cat laid down on the hood of the jeep and had a quick rest.
Although the video says that the cheetah halted tourists for 45 minutes, this video only shows the cat on the car for about two. However, the tourists may have waited until the cheetah had actually left the area before leaving themselves.
Another cheetah video shot in 2006 shows a similar situation in the Masai Mara region. Tourists were a little more unsettled out by this incident, especially one woman who can be heard murmuring "It's on our car and I am freaking out," while others in the vehicle sat frozen.
