Former Miami Dolphins star Chad Johnson and wife Evelyn Lozada are no longer married. The couple's short union ended not long after the duo got into an argument over condoms Evelyn found in Chad's possession. One thing led to another and Johnson supposedly head-butted his wife, causing her injury.
After landing in the hospital, Lozada thought better of the marriage and immediately filed for divorce. At first Johnson refused to grant it, even though under Florida law she didn't need his permission to dissolve their union. All she needed was a judge to sign on the dotted line.
Eventually Chad got the message that Evelyn wasn't going to "forgive and forget" just because he had her face tattooed on his body. Consequently, he finally agreed to the divorce. The papers were formally signed in court this morning, dissolving the union that lasted a little more than two months.
Michael Gilden, Lozada's lawyer, said his client was looking forward to her future as "a single woman". Both parties posted messages on Twitter that seemed to show their willingness to move on without one another.
Chad Johnson sent out a picture of his smiling face with a caption that said, "Love Never Looked So Good". Evelyn Lozada tweeted, "Oh What a GREAT morning!" Since both parties seem happier now, no doubt their fans will be happy for them.
