A deputy of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed to hunt down the makers of Innocence of Muslims, the noxious anti-Islam film which presumably touched off protests across the Middle East.
"The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns ... this inappropriate and offensive action," First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said. "Certainly it will search for, track, and pursue this guilty person who ... has insulted 1.5 billion Muslims in the world."
With a possible war looming with Israel, don't the Iranians have more important topics on their agenda right now? And, how are they going to identify the people behind the movie? Indeed, even the American government doesn't know the names of all the characters involved in financing Innocence of Muslims.
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula's Innocence of Muslims YouTube trailer has been viewed upwards of six million times. It depicts the Muslim prophet Mohammed as a warmonger and a womanizer, and is cited as the reason for violence across the Middle East.
If Iranian officials make threats like this, and don't follow through on them, they will wind up looking like fools. Honestly, it's beneath the dignity of a vice president to be making inflammatory statements like this. And, hasn't there been enough blood shed already because of this moronic movie?
