The 50 Shades of Grey movie casting rumors probably won't die down after author E. L. James' chat with Katie Couric.
All James would say is that she has three actors in mind for the role of hard-spanking seducer Christian Grey and four actresses in mind for the role of reluctant sex slave Anastasia Steele. So who could her picks be?
Since James is from England, perhaps she has chosen a few British stars. Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill has become a fan favorite for the movie because of a Dunhill fragrance ad in which he plays a Christian Grey-like character, and there are a few English actresses who might make good Anas. Emma Watson could leave her Harry Potter days far behind by getting cast as the not-so-submissive sex slave, and Felicity Jones recently starred in Hysteria, a movie about the invention of the vibrator (so she has experience with medieval-looking sex toys). There's also Emilia Clarke, who has shown that she has no problem with nude scenes by starring in the HBO series Game of Thrones.
And if James is looking to cast some stars from the land down under, Aussies Chris Hemsworth and Emily Browning might make a pretty pair.
The author might think that she knows exactly what women want since so many lusty ladies have purchased the 50 Shades of Grey book, but now she needs to pay attention to her fellow females as they tell her exactly who they want to see in the movie. E. L. James would please a lot of fans if she convinced movie producers to cast Ian Somerhalder, Alexander Skarsgard, or Matt Bomer as Christian. Favorites for the role of Anastasia Steele include Matt's White Collar costar Alexandra Daddario; Pretty Little Liars beauty Lucy Hale; and Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel.
As far as casting rumors are concerned, Ryan Gosling is allegedly the filmmakers' favorite for the role of Christian. Some of their rumored top Ana picks include The Secret Life of the American Teenager star Shailene Woodley; That '70s Show actress Mila Kunis; and Gossip Girl star Katie Cassidy.
All My Children actor Colin Egglesfield slightly resembles Christian favorites Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, and Henry Cavill, so maybe James would consider him for the part. However, like dark horse Christian Bale, Colin might be a bit too old for the role. Twilight actress Ashley Greene could be another Ana option.
Other names that have been thrown about on the web include Channing Tatum, Armie Hammer, Jessie Pavelka, Rooney Mara, Lily Collins, and Emma Stone. So basically there are so many options out there that it's pretty impossible to guess who James has in mind for the movie.
However, that doesn't make it any less fun to speculate about who her picks are. So which three actors and four actresses do you think that James and the 50 Shades movie producers are looking at?
