I do have some amazing news for the gather community so you will want to take the time to check out this post. 

I am exhausted and aggravated.  I tried to do up a post last night and the Internet was off at the motel.  Something about a fiber-optic line being cut while the city was doing work on the street.  They said it should be repaired within an hour.  This morning I tried again.  I was able to get online but kept getting kicked off. 

I was on the road all day today.  We left Illinois early this morning and just now got home.  Roger is still unloading the mini-van.

In an attempt to get your questions and problems taken care of in a timely manner, Gather has a staff of customer support agents just for your problems. However, keep in mind that they cannot help you if you don't tell them what is going on.

Please refer all your questions, concerns, and feedback to the official Gather HELP FORM.

The Gather staff will respond (if necessary) by email. The Gather Help Desk will be used for important announcements so feel free to check it out from time to time.

I have come to depend on my internet even more than I realized. I think it has been happening to a lot of people more often. Without the internet, one cannot get gas with a credit or debit card, cannot bank and so much more. If the internet was halted nationwide, we would be in a mess.

It is sorta scary

I know I would, but I know a lot of people who do not own a PC. Their hooked on their Cell Phones. As for me, yeah, I'm addicted, wonder where I'll find a support group......online probably ;^D

Roger's job closed down in June. The economy is really bad here. We have to move. There are no jobs here. We are moving to Illinois. I have never lived anywhere but Webster county West Virginia so this is an adventure for me.

Roger was born in Ohio, lived in Hobbs New Mexico and West Virginia so he as been around some. Not me though.

I just moved too. My boyfriend got a promotion that moved him to Gaylord, even further north. Supposedly, the winters here are pretty rough...

Why have you chosen Illinois? Are there job prospects there?

You have no how idea just how stressed I am. I mean I am ready to pass out at any minute. This not eating but once a day is not good for my stress or health either.

You are correct, I do not have any idea how stressed out you are but I do know that stress is NOT very healthy. Calm down, "this too shall pass", it always does.

Thanks, Connie! My desktop is on the verge of crashing, so I'm going through it to make sure I have everything I need from it. I'm probably going to get a laptop but am just going to run this one until it completely goes. It's been a good computer--had it since 2005, and I wrote all four of my books and a good portion of my fifth one using it.

I had your post pulled up to add in the spotlight for today but I filled it up too fast. I will add it in tomorrow's edition.

I hate it when a computer is ready to crash. I have been expecting it to happen just any day with mine and Rogers. He still has Windows XP on his. That is how old it is.

Hope you get everything saved before it bites the dust.

Hey Connie,

I'm going to be gone for a few hours then add more to that latest post when I get back. I also have some good news--tomorrow night I'll get to speak to a local creative writing class. It's my first public speaking gig, so I'm excited/nervous but more on the excited side. :)

This computer started out with XP, but we switched it over to Windows Vista when we added more RAM to it. It's still working--is locking up a lot but comes back after a restart--but I'm afraid to do anything too major with it. I'm going to need to get that laptop soon to get book five done.

According to Google Maps, we're about six hours away from you. Cory's uncle lives in Chicago, and we've been meaning to make a road trip to visit him. It'd be nice to stop and see you on the way.
