A fish on a hook

Beneath the algae green;

The biggest fish

You have ever seen;

 

But the fishing line broke

When I tried to reel it in;

Nothing in my bucket,

Not even a fin;

 

I took another worm;

On the hook it did squirm;

I cast my line again

Into the water and then...

 

The fish was gone

From the algae green;

But I swear it was the biggest fish

You have ever seen.

This poem reminds me an Ogden Nash style of poetry very positive with a bouncy sort of a feel to it.

I once caught a fish that fought like all get out and felt like I'd hooked a big one. When I finally got it reeled in, it was a three inch blue gill I'd accidentally hooked in the eye.
