'50 Shades of Grey' Movie: Emma Watson and Nina Dobrev Talk Playing Anastasia

The 50 Shades of Grey movie producers might be able to convince Emma Watson to play Anastasia Steele if they cast the right actor to play Christian Grey.

Emma was recently asked about the possibility of starring in the film based on the popular erotic novel about a BDSM relationship, and she didn't say no to potentially playing Ana. According to The Hollywood Reporter, here's what she said about 50 Shades:

"I haven't read the book yet so I don't know what I would be signing myself up for. But it's always flattering to be considered for roles and to be in the mix for things."

Surely one of her female friends has at least told her what the book is about. She has spent plenty of time around one girl who probably has read the book - her The Perks of Being a Wallflower costar Nina Dobrev. Since Nina's boyfriend Ian Somerhalder is interested in playing Christian Grey, it seems very likely that he and Nina have both read the novel. And brunette beauty Nina came up with the perfect way for the producers of the 50 Shades of Grey movie to convince Emma Watson to play Anastasia Steele. According to E! Online, here's what she said while talking about Ryan Gosling playing Christian:

"She would be far more interested if he were playing Christian Grey. I guess that's all it takes."

But surely Nina Dobrev isn't rooting for Ryan Gosling to get the part - she needs to be campaigning for Ian Somerhalder. Of course she might not want Emma to get cast as Ana if Ian wins the role - it might be a little awkward to see her new pal getting spanked by her boyfriend.

Some of Emma's fans probably also don't like the thought of her getting cast as Anastasia. They remember her as cute, fuzzy-haired bookworm Hermione, so it's a little horrifying to imagine her getting chained up in Christian's Red Room of Pain. But sometimes former child stars decide to star in movies that feature a lot of sex in order to show the world that they're all grown up - Saved by the Bell actress Elizabeth Berkley deciding to do the movie Showgirls is a good example of this career move (which can obviously backfire).
