Kristen Stewart might have wound up the brunt of host Kevin Hart's jokes at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Thursday, but wound up being defended by Hart instead.
According to a report from Hollywood Life, it was expected that Hart would crucify Kristen during his opening at Thursday's event. In a rather gallant turn of events, he picked on a couple of other celebrities before giving Kristen a huge break.
Of course Kristen wasn't present to realize first hand that she's been spared even more public humiliation than she's already experienced. Robert Pattinson, however, was there--and it's pretty likely when Kevin Hart started his humorous monologue that Rob held his breath for a few moments. That exhale--when it came--must have been cleansing and huge.
"This is the elephant in the room. No one wants me to talk about it, but I do what I want. This is what I want to say," Kevin said. "I want to talk about Kristen Stewart. Here's what I gotta say about Kristen- everybody makes mistakes. She allegedly messed around with a director [Rupert Sanders]. She did it, so what. Look on the bright side. Here's the thing. They are now a part of the seven dwarfs: Dopey, sleepy, adultery, cheating. If you made a mistake, so what!"
Are you happy to learn that Kevin Hart took the high road when he very easily could have created even more misery for Kristen--and for Robert Pattinson, too?
