In a recent interview, NINA DOBREV revealed that she tried hard NOT to fall in love with her "Vampire Diaries" co-star and real-life boyfriend, IAN SOMERHALDER.
Unsurprisingly, Ian's irresistible allure won out in the end.
Dobrev and Somerhalder, who became a couple in 2010, were first rumored to be dating after they were spotted packing on the PDA at a few public events. But before they went public, the steamy twosome—or more specifically, Nina—fought hard to keep things professional between them, since they were co-stars on CW's hit show "The Vampire Diaries".
The actress sheepishly recalls on Seventeen magazine's October issue:
“The first time I was on the cover of Seventeen, the cover line said, ‘Nina: Why she wouldn’t date any of her costars’… And then cut to two years later … it’s funny that I said that.”
But Nina insists that she really tried to stay true to her pledge of never dating a co-star… honest, she did! The actress explains:
“I didn’t want to be dating one of my costars. My goal on the show was to be professional. But sometimes you can’t help who you have a connection with, and you can only fight it for so long – which I did for a really, really long time.”
It's okay, Nina. We can't blame you. Everyone knows you can't fight the pull of Ian's piercing blue eyes and washboard abs… you just can't!
