'Hawaii Five-0' Season 3 Premiere 'La O Na Makuahine' Preview: Aftermath of the Cliffhangers

Hawaii Five-0 returns to CBS for its third season with the premiere, "La O Na Makuahine" ("Mother's Day"), on September 24, and it's going to address the major cliffhangers from last season's finale.

"Following McGarrett's mother's (guest star Christine Lahti) surprise return and Chin's gut-wrenching decision in last season's finale cliffhanger, the team is determined to track down Wo Fat and Delano for killing an important member of their family."

Christine Lahti will be introduced as Doris McGarrett in this episode, as teased by the season 2 finale, and while she's been alive all this time, it's going to be up to Steve and the others to make sure she stays that way. Meanwhile, there's the matter of Kono and Malia's fates after Chin Ho was forced to choose, and while he chose his wife, it's looking like she's going to be the one who dies and Kono's going to survive.

The Hawaii Five-0 season 3 premiere promo for episode 1 "La O Na Makuahine" (below) features a quick recap of the end of last season for Steve and Chin Ho. Doris tells Steve she did what she had to in order to protect her family. He wants to know, "Is that supposed to make me feel better?" but she just tells him, "It's just the truth." You can understand where they're both coming from; he's upset he thought his mother was dead all this time, and she just wanted to keep her family safe.

Meanwhile, Wo Fat is out and teaming up with Delano. Doris is put in a safe house with Catherine while the team hunts them down, but what happens when Wo Fat finds Doris? Will that gun do her any good, or will it be up to Steve to save his mother? Will Wo Fat escape once again, or will Steve bring him in?
