“Come; Sit At the King’s Table”
“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies…” Psalm 23:5a
Scripture Reading For This Week: 2 Samuel 4; 2 Samuel 9; Psalm 18:40; 23; Psalm 143:12…
I must first declare and decree that I serve a mighty and awesome God! Yes I do! I cannot begin to tell you how thankful I am for who God is in my life and all that He has done for me! I am filled with the joy of the Lord, and it is His joy that is my strength. The strength that I need to go through each day and to push forward and make it to that seat that He has prepared for me at His table! Hallelujah! Thank You Jesus! My God is good!
Beloved, I don’t know what you may be facing today. But I do know this: God has not given up on you, so don’t you give up either! Come; sit at the King’s table and be filled with all that He has ordained for you. Don’t worry about the enemy. For God has taken care of it. Just get to the table. Because everything you need to go forward, is at the King’s table. And He has a special place set just for you!
I declare and decree that this week’s Reflections is a continued source of encouragement for your heart, mind, and soul. That it will serve as a reminder of the goodness of God and the greatness that He has ordained for your life.
I know. I know. I know. We are attacked on all sides—persecuted all the day long, but not defeated. Blindsided so many times we have lost count. But still; God has kept us. We are still, somehow, in the land of the living. We made it to another day. And because you are yet alive, that tells me that God is not finished with you. That, there is still something mighty great about to happen in your life.
God has invited us to come and sit at His table…in the presence of our enemies. This isn’t any table. This is HIS table, which He has specifically prepared just for us. At this table is all that we need to make it each and every day. This is a table that the Father has designed and prepared with us in mind.
You must know, however, that the enemy will do everything he possibly can to get you to not sit at this table. He will try his very best to keep you away from this table. And he will use every deceitful trick that he can. But you must know: that there is nothing and no one, except yourself, that can keep you from this table—though many will try. The enemy will use many tactics and devices and people; it is still up to you to decide if you are going to come and sit at the King’s table and receive what He has prepared just for you!
What’s at this table, you might ask? Every promise of God concerning your life. Every weapon needed to fight the battles we are confronted with. Every bit of wisdom and strength to walk this journey we call our life. Everything necessary to be a triumphant believer in the Kingdom of God. But that’s not all. Peace is at this table. Joy is at this table. Healing is at this table. Love is at this table. Forgiveness is at this table. Strength is at this table. Wisdom and understanding is at this table. It is no ordinary table. This is the King’s table; specifically set just for you. And no two persons table looks alike. It is uniquely set and prepared for each individual.
Don’t you want what’s at this table? Then forget about the enemies standing in front. For, they are just an illusion of power, trying to stop you. But the truth is; you can’t be stopped when the price for your admission has already been paid for with the Blood of Jesus. All you have to do is come and take your seat at the King’s table.
Many of us have given up on ourselves. We believed the lies that have been told about us. We’ve believed the lies we told about ourselves. However, the best thing ever is that God has not given up on us. I don’t care how bleak our situation looks. I don’t care how impossible things appear to be; my God specializes in the impossible and unbelievable.
People may have given up on us; family, spouses, friends, employees, etcetera. But God has not. And He’s the one that counts. Your life may seem like it’s over. Your situation may seem helpless and hopeless. But that just means you’re in good company. That, the miracle before you is more than you could have dreamed for yourself. Right about now, I could give you a few examples. But I’m going to refer to one: Mephibosheth, King Saul’s grandson, the son of Jonathon, David’s best friend.
2 Samuel 4:4 And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up and fled. And it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
2 Samuel 9:9-11 9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, “I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house. 10 Thou, therefore, and thy sons and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat; but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread always at my table.” (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.) 11. Then said Ziba unto the king, “According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do.” “As for Mephibosheth,” said the king, “he shall eat at my table as one of the king’s sons.”
I encourage you to read this in its entirety. I am certain that those caring for Mephibosheth, and Mephibosheth himself had given up. I’m certain he had lived in fear. But God had more for him. It didn’t matter what his past was or what he went through, when God had already made a plan for him. Even when it looked like he had nothing; that his life was at the bottom, he was invited to sit at the King’s table. And at the King’s table he received new life, as did those who cared for him.
Come; sit at the King’s table. He has much for you. Don’t be scared off by the enemies standing around. For God said He’s prepared the table for you in the presence of your enemies. They have no power to stop you. They have nothing on you! So…go and get what’s yours. Go get all that you need to walk in this journey we call life.
I declare that the spirit of peace and prosperity has found permanent rest in your lives: spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and financially. All that you have need of is waiting for you at the King’s table. The only one, who can stop you, is you. Take courage, have faith, and go forth! Don’t give up, no matter what things look like. God has not given up on you, so you have no business giving up either! You are Blessed! Now go…and Be a Blessing!
